Skoda Karoq Bookings Open in India, Launch in April 2020
Pre Bookings have kick started with a booking amount of Rs 50,000

Skoda has recently commenced with the pre-bookings of the karoq which was showcased at the recently held 2020 Auto Expo. The pre bookings can be done online at Skoda Auto India’s official website. In addition to this we at MyNewCar have also kick started the pre bookings for the Skoda Karoq online as well. As per Skoda, the pre booking amount has been set to Rs 50,000 and if things go well taking in case the current situations that we are facing due to the COVID-19 outbreak the launch of this mid size SUV can be seen in the month of April.
Design and Equipments
The upcoming Skoda Karoq is based on the same platform which is shared with its cousin the Volkswagen T-Roc which was also showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo. As the Karoq gets a near about 4.4 meter length it helps in being a large mid size SUV just like the Jeep Compass. The top of the line variant will come handy with a panoramic sunroof and 17 inch alloy wheels and it will also get full LED headlights as seen on the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace and the T-Roc. In addition to this, the cabin will host a virtaul cockpit for the instrument cluster, 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, dual-zone climate control for utmost comfort, nine airbags and 12-way electrically-adjustable driver’s seat.
PowerTrain and Performance
As of now Skoda will only be launching the Karoq with a single engine option in the Indian market. Under the hood will be a 1.5 litre TSI turbocharged petrol engine that can generate 150 bhp of power and 250Nm of twist. This engine complies with the new BS-VI emission norms and it also comes matted with a seven speed DSG automatic gearbox.
In terms of performance, the Skoda Koaroq can sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in nine seconds whereas it can achieve a top speed of 202kmph. Although the Skoda Karoq in the international market gets the 4X4 option, we will have to settle with the front wheel drive option in the Indian market.

Rivals and Conclusion
Skoda Auto India will be bring in the Karoq on to the Indian soil via the CBU route (Completely Built Unit). But the Czech manufacturer has said that the price tag will be on the competitive side when launched. Skoda could take advantage of the 2500 car import rule which can allow them to limit the quantities of these niche models without the need of homologating them Once launched the Skoda Karoq will lok its horns with the Jeep Compass, Hyundai Tucson, Honda CR-V and the Volkswagen T-Roc
