Skoda Kushaq First Look Review, Interior, Images - Creta & Seltos Rivals
Skoda has just revealed its new midsize SUV called as the Kushaq. The Kushaq was first seen as a concept at the 2020 Auto Expo while today we have seen the official reveal of the production version. The Kushaq is made for India and is the much awaited new SUV that Skoda has been promising for a long time. Here are all of the details:
Skoda Kushaq Exterior Review
The name means king in Sanskrit and also follows the K philosophy. The Kushaq production version shares a lot with the concept plus it looks as aggressive with a lot of typical Skoda styling cues. The grille is big while the headlamp set-up is divided into two. Below that you will see the large fog-lamp enclosures plus the cladding around it. The grille has a thick chrome outline while below that you get a skid plate plus cladding too. The Kushaq is big and nearly the size of a Creta while the lines used are straight but having a typical European design. You also see the cladding and the unique 17-inch alloys. Skoda has also provided roof-rails. The rear also has wide tail-lamps. The SUV looks handsome no doubt being a typical Skoda for sure. In terms of ground clearance it is 188mm while you will get 5 colour options.
Skoda Kushaq Interior
Inside the Skoda Kushaq is quite luxurious and well made. The square AC vents along with a touch screen above it are nicely integrated with the buttons below. There is also a nice wood finish to the cabin. The steering wheel is also unique while you get controls on either side. The touch screen is 10inch while there is also a instrument cluster with a TFT screen. The design is simple but nice. In terms of features you get ventilated and cooled leather seats, sunroof, rear ac vents, connected car technology, wireless Smartlink Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Type C USB ports, six speakers, cooled glove box and wireless charging. Storage is nice with space for two mobiles. It has the longest wheelbase in its class with a 2651mm wheelbase while it has a 385 litre boot.
Skoda Kushaq Engines
Skoda is not giving any diesel with the Kushaq as instead it will offer turbocharged petrol engines with the SUV. The range will start with a 1.0 TSI which makes 110 bhp. That engine will form the starting point as it will come with a 6-speed manual as standard while the automatic version would be one with a new 6-speed automatic. The top-end Kushaq would be the 1.5 TSI which would come with a 7-speed DSG. The 1.5 TSI makes 150 bhp and 250Nm.
Skoda Kushaq Price and Launch
The platform which is MQB A0 IN has been made with high localization in mind hence the Kushaq will have 95 percent of localization. We feel the entry level 1.0 TSI manual would come with pricing which would be below the Rs 10 lakh mark while the top-end would be Rs 16 lakh. SKoda Kushaq with rival Creta, Seltos and upcoming VW Taigun and is expected to go on sale by June 2021.
