Maruti Suzuki Swift led the charts ahead of Baleno, Dzire, Alto and Wagon R in November
Domestics as well as export sales for Maruti Suzuki India faced a hit in November 2019. But when we compared the sales figures in the different segments, there were some models which gave a huge backing. This ensured that the Indian car manufacturer did not have to face a huge blow overall. On the other hand, there were also some models and segments which face a hit as compared to the sales figures from last year. So let's have a detailed look at how the models in each segment of Maruti Suzuki performed last month.
1. Maruti Suzuki Swift:

Year over Year growth: November 2018 - 2019 (-13%)
In the month of November 2019, Maruti Suzuki Swift has taken the lead in comparison with its hatchback counterparts such as the Baleno, Alto and the Wagon R. Although the Swift is the leader in the hatchback segment it has just managed to cross sales figure of 19,314 units last month in comparison with 22,191 units in the same month last year. Hence a drop of 13 percent was seen in the year over year growth.
2. Maruti Suzuki Baleno:

Year over Year growth: November 2018 - 2019 (-4%)
The Baleno is the only hatchback from Maruti Suzuki who will be facingnew rivals in the year 2020 with the launch of the Tata Altroz and the third gen Hyundai Elite i20. Even though the launch dates are very close for these models, the baleno managed to have a grip in November 2019. The B2 segment hatchback saw a sales of 18,047 units last month but when compared to November 2018 a fall by 4 percent is seen. On the other hand, Maruti Suzuki India dispatched 2286 units of the Baleno to Toyota.
3. Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire and Ciaz:

Year over Year growth: November 2018 - 2019 (-17% Dzire)

Year over Year growth: November 2018 - 2019 (-62.3% Ciaz)
The compact sedan Dzire registered a sales volume of 17,659 units in the month of November 2019. But when compared with the sales figure in November 2018 a decline of 17 percent is as the volumes reached were 21,037 units. On the other hand, the Ciaz has faced the major hit with a decline is sales by 62.3 percent as compared with the Year over Year growth.
4. Maruti Suzuki Alto and New Wagon-R:

Year over Year growth: November 2018 - 2019 (-20% Alto)

Year over Year growth: November 2018 - 2019 (+29% Wagon R)
One of the best selling models the ALto also faced the blow when compared to the year over year growth. November 2019 saw a sales of 15,086 models whereas in November 2018 sales volume reached 18,643 units. Hence a decline in sales by 20 percent was seen. But the newly launched Wagon-R saw a positive growth. As compared with the year over year growth, the New Wagon R saw a growth by 29 percent. Lstyear 11,311 units of the Wagon R were sold whereas last month 14,650 units were sold.
Overall even if the hatchbacks saw a decline in sales year over year growth, they have managed to push up the overall figures for last month. October 2019 was the festive season hence there was a boom in sales, now in November 2019 with the festive season out the sales figures have come down.
