Volkswagen India launched 2 New SUV this March 2020

Volkswagen Iaunches VW T-ROC and Tiguan Allspace
Volkswagen is one of the most trusted brands internationally and does have a reputation to hold. The German carmaker has been too focused on sedans which has been doing well in the Indian automotive market but with more and more people getting attracted to the SUV look, Volkswagen India will be bringing some major SUVs this year in the Indian automotive market.
A joint venture between Volkswagen India and Skoda, India 2.0 strategy, Volkswagen will be bringing multiple new products for the Indian automotive market. The T-Roc and Allspace are part of a long list of SUVs which Volkswagen intends to bring into the country. With the BS6 soon approaching, we will also be looking at a lot of updated cars as well.
The Tiguan Allspace that was launched on 6th march, 2020 is a 7-seater version of the Tiguan SUV. Volkswagen is also bringing t-roc as a CBU (Completely Built Unit) in India and it will be launched on 18th of this month.
Tiguan Allspace
The seven seater version of Taigun, a compact SUV which is based on the India-specific MQB AO-IN platform has launched in Indian automotive market at Rs.33.12 lakhs. The car measures 4821mm in length, 1439mm in width and 1674mm in height. The Allspace has a longer wheelbase (2787mm) and rear overhang compared to general Tiguan to make room for a third row of seats. The car also comes with a 340 liters of boot space.
The 7-seater Allspace is powered by, 2.0-liter turbo-petrol engine that puts out an output of 190hp and 320Nm of torque. The car comes accompanied with a 7-speed DSG transmission option and is paired with all-wheel drive. The car is available only in one variant and includes features like, digital driverās display, connected car tech, a panoramic sunroof, three-zone climate control and powered front seats. The car competes with the likes of, the Ford Endeavour, Toyota Fortuner, Skoda Kodiaq and Isuzu MU-X.
Volkswagen T-Roc
The car is expected to start with a price tag anywhere between Rs. 18-23 lakhs and will be offered in single fully-loaded variant, and will come as CBU (Completely Built Up) unit. The car will offer no diesel option and will come with a BS6 petrol engine. The car will compete with major crowd pleasers like MG Hector, Hyundai Tucson, Jeep Compass, Mahindra XUV500, Tata Harrier/Gravitas and Skoda Karoq. Considering the competition and the price point of t-roc, it is expected to not be the most popular in its segment.
The mid size SUV will be powered by, 1.5-liter turbo-petrol engine producing 150hp and 250 Nm of torque mated to 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The car will offer a list of features like, Vienna leather upholstery, touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, keyless entry, start/stop button, a panoramic sunroof, dual zone AC. The safety features will include, ESC (Electronic Stability Control), TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System), ABS, reverse parking camera, park distance control and 6 airbags. Bookings for the T-Roc have already begun and it will finally be on sale 18th march, 2020.
Volkswagen is struggling in terms of sales and market share in India. The company has not been bringing out any new exciting cars in the Indian automotive market as well. But all this is expected to change with this yearās initiative. The German carmaker is expected to rise to the popularity it once had in this country soon.
