New Tata Safari Interior Review – 3rd Row Space & Connected Tech Features
The new Safari interior is one of the biggest highlights of the car with many extensive changes with the addition of a new interior colour scheme, new third row of seats and more features plus changes. Let us take a look.
New Safari Interior Colour
The new Safari at first glance borrows the same Harrier design in the cabin but there are changes.
The Safari now gets a new interior colour scheme which is called Oyster White and it also gets a signature ashwood dashboard. There is also Oyster White Perforated Leather seat upholstery and door pad inserts. There is chrome used and also it has a soft-touch dashboard along with a leather wrapped steering wheel and gear shift knob. Do notice that it gets a new electronic handbrake plus a revised location for the USB port.
New Safari Space Review
The new Safari gets either a bench style 7-seater or a 6-seater being optional. The 6-seater gets captain seats in the second row which are very comfortable and have a lot of legroom plus headroom. The seats are soft and help you relax while you can recline as well as move the front seat yourself with the boss mode gearlever aside the front passenger seat.
New Safari Third Row Dimensions
The third row is decent and has surprisingly good headroom thanks to the re-designed roof while legroom is adequate. You also get dedicated ac vents. In terms of dimensions the third row has
Headroom – 889 mm
Legroom – 832 mm
Thigh Support – 463 mm
Floor to seat Cushion Height 3rd Row – 315 mm
Backrest Angle – 23 deg.
New Safari Features & Connected Tech
The new Safari is based on the top-end Harrier but there are extra features. Shared with the Harrier is the 8-inch touch screen and part digital instrument cluster, panoramic roof, climate control, rear camera with sensors, powered driver’s seat, smart phone connectivity and more.
In addition the Safari gets the earlier mentioned white leather upholstery, captain seats with boss mode, ambient mood lighting, Electronic Parking Brake with Auto Hold, JBL Audio with 9 speakers and the iRA connected tech.
The connected tech feature made its debut with the Altroz and the New Safari gets connected features like
LOCATION BASED SERVICES
VEHICLE SECURITY FEATURES
LIVE VEHICLE DIAGNOSTICS
OVER THE AIR UPDATES
In terms of the features, the quality is improved and the cabin feels premium. We like the premium sound system quality while touch screen while decent is too small along with the rear camera display. The connected tech feature is welcome and it does work.
New Tata Safari Interior Review - Verdict
The new Tata Safari is a major step-up and scores well in terms of features and having a premium feel. The second row seats are also an USP while the third row is not bad at all in terms of space. The interior does get a thumbs up from us overall. The 2021 Safari should be considered by car buyers wanting a spacious SUV with host of comfort and tech features for Big Families.
