With Indian Auto Expo scheduled in the first week of February, automakers are gearing up for the unveiling or launching of their new vehicles. In the year 2015, automakers managed to build a steady graph in their sales chat which was somewhat lost in 2013 and 2014. Now in this New Year, automakers will try to maintain the momentum by launching latest products and with auto expo coming we can surely expect some brand new cars coming our way. So, let’s dig deep to find more about cars launching in the month of January and February.
1) Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 AMG Coupe: 12th January
A perfect combination of a sports car and an SUV, the GLE Coupe will be launched by the German luxury carmaker on January 12. Since its an AMG model, expect nothing but the best. The car will carry AMG-enhanced 3.0-liter Bi-Turbo V-6 engine which gives an output of 362bhp and a peak torque of 520 Nm. The engine comes mated to a 9-speed automatic gearbox.
2) Mahindra KUV1OO: 15th January
Mahindra will launch its compact SUV KUV1OO on January 15. We earlier reported that the bookings have already started with an upfront payment of Rs 10,000. KUV1OO will be launched in the price range of Rs 3 to 5 lac and will compete against the likes of Maruti Suzuki Wagon R, Grand i10 and upcoming Maruti Suzuki Ignis.
3) Ford Endeavour – 20th January
Ford will be launching its all new Endeavour on January 20th. The new SUV? is entirely different from its predecessor and now comes with many segment first features. The new 2016 Endeavour will compete with ?Fortuner?, facelifted? Mitsubishi? Pajero? Sport and new ?Chevrolet? Trailblazer?. Under the hood, the SUV will come with an option of 2.2-liter 4-cylinder and 3.2-liter 5-cylinder TDCi diesel engines.
4) Tata Zica -20th January
Tata Motors will launch the Zica hatch on January 20th. The car will be placed below Bolt with an expected price in the range of Rs 3 to 5 lac. Tata Zica will be offered in both the fuel trims. The petrol model houses a 1.2-liter, Revotron, 3-cylinder MPFi engine while the diesel features 1.05-lite, Revotorq, 3-cylinder engine. The car will also come with segment first Multi-Drive modes – City and ECO modes, same as that of Bolt and Zest.
5) Maruti Suzuki Brezza – February
Maruti? ?Suzuki? plans on launching its compact SUV ?Brezza ?(Codename YBA) in ?February? after its unveiling at Indian Auto Expo. The Ford EcoSport? and Hyundai? ?Creta? competitor is Maruti’s first compact SUV which will be priced in the range of Rs 8 to 12 lac. In terms of mechanical configuration, we can expect Maruti to power the Brezza with the tried and tested 1.3-litre MultiJet diesel and 1.2-litre petrol engine.
6) Maruti? ?Suzuki? Alto 800 ?diesel?: February
Maruti Suzuki will also unveil the diesel Alto 800 and we expect that the company might even launch its most affordable hatch in the event. The car will be powered by 793cc oil mill which also does duty in ?Celerio? diesel model. It will give an output of 47bhp with peak torque of 125Nm.
7) Toyota Innova: February
The new Innova is based on Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) platform making it lighter than the outgoing version. The new Toyota Innova will come equipped with swept back head-lamps, a new front grille, LED DRLs and new fog-lamps. Though we are not sure as some reports also suggests that the company might launch its new MPV in mid-2016, but since the month Feb will witness the auto expo, we expect that the company might even launch it in February.
8) Chevrolet Cruze- February
Chevrolet India will launch the facelift version of Cruze at the upcoming Indian ?Auto? ?Expo?. The updated model resembles the North American-spec 2015 Cruze which was introduced in April 2014 at the NewYork International Auto Show?. The new Cruze features new chrome grille, redesigned bumper, ?LED? DRLs and MyLink? infotainment system with integrated ?GPS? navigation. The car is expected to in-house the same 2.0-liter VCDi diesel engine capable of mustering segment best output of 163 horses and 360 Nm of spin.
9) Renault Kwid with 1.0-litre engine -February
Following the successful debut, Renault will introduce the 1.0-litre variant in February. The company is also planning to bring the AMT gearbox.
?10) Ford? ?Mustang?- February!
The new Ford Mustang will be showcased at the Indian Auto Expo and the company might even launch its first muscle car in India. The Blue Oval Company already announced that the current Mustang will also be available as an ?#RHD? (Right Hand Drive) model. It is also speculated that the Ford India is likely to sell the Mustang in two variants: the entry-level Mustang ?EcoBoost? and Mustang ?GT?.
