It has been long since the Elite i20 has received a new gen refreshment. Hyundai has been working on it and next-generation i20 is expected to be launched in the festive season. It is expected that the upcoming Hyundai i20 will gain a hand over the Maruti Suzuki Baleno which is a leader in the premium hatchback segment. Hence we at MyNewCar get to you a detailed spec comparison between both the models to help you know better what can be expected in the new-gen i20.
2020 Hyundai i20 vs Baleno - Dimension:
|2020 Hyundai i20(International)||Maruti Suzuki Baleno|
As we compare the new generation model of the i20 showcased for the global market with the current Elite i20 sold in the Indian market, the former is much bigger and spacious. Although the international model comes with a length measuring 4040mm, the upcoming i20 will be offered in a sub 4m length in India to benefit from the tax laws and ensure that it has a competitive price range. In the Indian market, the upcoming Hyundai i20 will be offered with some minor dimensional changes which will be very competitive with the Baleno. Just like the current model, the upcoming i20 will be shorter in height when compared to the Baleno. Coming to the wheels, as seen on the Baleno, the next-gen i20 will also get the 16-inch wheels unlike the 17-inch wheels seen on the international model.
2020 Hyundai i20 vs Baleno - Exterior Design:
Hyundai offers the all-new i20 with a sporty design, aggressive looks and which also adopts a modern outlook. This premium hatchback has been inspired by Hyundai’s Sensuous Sportiness design language which is defined by four fundamental elements namely – proportion, architecture, styling and technology. Upfront, the next-gen i20 will feature a new headlamp unit with LED DRL’s, new design grille and front bumper. It will be offered with new alloy wheels, new LED tail lights that will get the futuristic new design look in modern Hyundai cars and a newly designed rear bumper.
On the other hand, the Baleno offers a classy design language with curvy styling elements. The latest model has been offered with some minor updates, but it still looks very significant to the earlier model. When compared to the new-gen Hyundai i20, the current-gen Baleno does look a bit old now.
2020 Hyundai i20 vs Baleno - Interior and Features:
The upcoming i20 will be equipped with a four-spoke steering wheel which is identical to the one seen on the 2020 Hyundai Creta. It will also feature a horizontal slat running across the dashboard which is inspired by the Audi Q7. In addition to this, it will feature a 10.25-inch floating touchscreen infotainment unit, Blue Link car connected technology, ambient lighting, wireless charging and all-digital instrument cluster.
