1. Hyundai Creta
The Creta has been the best selling SUV of India this year and has been a huge success for Hyundai. The new Creta is available with two petrol engines and one diesel while the segment-leading equipment levels is what sealed the deal further. The new Creta is also much better to drive and also more luxurious. In short, it is the perfect SUV. Price- Rs 9.8 lakh to Rs 17.3 lakh.
2. Kia Seltos
The Seltos continued its strong show but played second to the Hyundai Creta but in its second year, the Seltos sales were still strong. The combination of styling plus features and a huge engine/gearbox option list makes still very good sense. Price- Rs 9.9 lakh- Rs 17.5 lakh.
3. Kia Sonet
The compact SUV from Kia has taken over the SUV space with its mix of good looks and features along with segment-first features. 4. Maruti Vitara Brezza

The Venue from Hyundai had maintained its strong sales record and the update of getting the iMT also helped to that matter. The Venue still looks good and features a new diesel engine post BS6. Being cheaper than the Sonet, it is a more value option. Price- Rs 6.7 lakh to Rs 11.6 lakh
6. Tata Nexon
The new Nexon has been a success and has given fresh life to this compact SUV from Tata. The Nexon update was launched at the starting of this year and had key changes to its design including a new front-end while the features list was updated too and gets a 4 star safety rating. Price- Rs 7 lakh to Rs 12.7 lakh.
7. Mahindra XUV300
The XUV300 continues to be an appealing compact SUV with highest safety rating, most powerful engines on offer while the interiors are also spacious. The XUV300 comes with both manual and AMT options. Price- Rs 7.9 lakh- Rs 12.3 lakh.
8. Ford EcoSport
Ford updated the EcoSport range with its range of BS6 engines and also changed the value which has helped it maintain a strong show even so many years after its launch. The EcoSport remains a good compact SUV that is fun to drive and is feature-packed. Price- Rs 8.19 lakh to Rs 11.7 lakh.
9. Mahindra Scorpio
The Scorpio is still going strong in its current generation with its iconic styling and the rugged nature coming in India. The Scorpio still is a good mix of space and off-road ability which still makes it a choice for many. Price- Rs 12.4 lakh- Rs 16.2 lakh.
10. Nissan Magnite
The Magnite has saved Nissan and this compact SUV is now the most affordable in its class. It has got off to a good start with over 15,000 booking within 1 month of launch. The Magnite looks good and is reasonably loaded with features but also providing excellent value for money. Price- Rs 4.99 lakh to Rs 9.59 lakh.
11. Mahindra Thar
The new Thar has been one of the most talked-about car launches of this year and it has been a huge success with long waiting periods also. The Thar in its new generation gets an all-new platform plus new engines and a new interior. It looks stunning and offers an experience that no other car can in terms of off-road ability. Price-Rs 9.8 lakh- Rs 13.7 lakh.
12. MG Hector
The Hector from MG has impressed car-buyers with its space, size, and value along with the technology and overall features. It continued its strong show into this year too with the new Hector Plus further added to the appeal. Price- 12.8 lakh- Rs 18 lakh
13. Tata Harrier

The Toyota Urban Cruiser is nothing but a rebadged Maruti Brezza but this has done well for Toyota. The Urban Cruiser though unlike the Glanza does get a small few changes and also like the Brezza has an efficient petrol engine. Price- 8.4 lakh to Rs 11.5 lakh.
15. Maruti S-Cross
The S-Cross received a fresh lease of life as it had a new petrol engine which reduced prices and increased the appeal plus the addition of an automatic option was a further plus point. Price- Rs 8.3 lakh- Rs 12.3 lakh.
16. Honda WR-V
The WR-V got a small facelift with some minor changes while the petrol engine and diesel engine remains. The new WR-V is also a spacious crossover which has a sunroof and a decent features list. Price- Rs 8.6 lakh- Rs 11.06 lakh.
17. Volkswagen T-Roc
The T-Roc compact SUV was the entry of Volkswagen to this segment and it was a CBU product but looked attractive along with getting a TSI engine and a DSG automatic. The T-Roc was also high on quality with the interiors and driving experience. It was imported with limited numbers only. Price- Rs 19.9 lakh.
18. Renault Duster
The Duster has had its own loyal fan following and this year saw the introduction of the turbo petrol to the range and the diesel being taken out. The Duster is amongst the most affordable turbo petrol midsize SUV. Price- 9.3 lakh- Rs 13.5 lakh.

The XUV500 in its current generation is in its last legs as the new one is coming next year but even in its current form, the XUV500 is a spacious and fairly well-equipped SUV that still makes sense. Price- Rs 13.6 lakh- Rs 19 lakh.
20. Jeep Compass
The Jeep Compass faced some tough competition but the Compass got a crucial update this year in form of the diesel automatic which has expanded the appeal of the Compass. The Jeep Compass thus still makes sense for its quality, performance, and the diesel automatic combination. Price- Rs 16.5 lakh- Rs 27.6 lakh.
