Maruti Suzuki has offered the S-Presso with a unique SUV design to impress the masses. Although the dimensions are a bit compact, the space management is excellent, the boot space is adequate and it also offers good ride quality. Powering the S-Presso is a 1.0 litre K10B petrol unit that produces 67bhp of power and 70 Nm of twist. Although the mid and top models of the Tiago surpass the Rs 5 lakh barrier, the entry-level models surely come loaded with good features and technology. Tata now powers the Tiago with only the
Revotron 1.2 L petrol mill, whereas the diesel engine has been discontinued. This petrol engine produces 84 bhp of power and 113 Nm of twist and it is coupled with a 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox option. It is the only car in the top 5 list that has scored a 4-star rating in the crash test.
5. Maruti Suzuki Wagon-R - Rs 4.50 lakh - Rs 5.99 lakh (Ex-showroom)
In its latest iteration, the Maruti Suzuki Wagon-R now looks quite modern and it continues the tall boy design language. The cabin is very roomy and it offers ample head-room and knee-room along with the latest equipment loaded into it. With the 1.0-litre petrol engine, Maruti Suzuki now also offers the Wagon R with a 1.2-litre K12 petrol engine that churns out 67 bhp of power and 90 Nm of twist. Both the engines get the option for a manual and AMT gearbox. On the other hand, the factory-fitted CNG kit is only available on the 1.0-litre petrol engine.
