Upcoming New Car Launches in Sept to Dec 2020 - Launch Date
As we have completed the first race of 2020, we have seen many new cars getting launched. Also with the BS6 emission norms coming into place in the month of April, we have also witnessed many changes in the lineup and also some revisions as well. With the festive season now nearing, there are many new cars that will be launched in India. Hence we at MyNewCar.in get to you the list of these new cars that you should be eyeing on.
2020 Mahindra Thar : (Launch - Oct 2,2020 - Confirmed)
The Indian auto manufacturer is gearing up to launch the 2020 Thar in the festive season. Spy shots of the test mule have been surfing all over the internet. Mahindra will be updating the 2020 Thar with a touchscreen infotainment unit, front-facing rear seats, a semi-digital instrument cluster and it will also introduce a hard-top variant as well. Under the hood will most likely be the 2.0-litre diesel unit that puts out 140 bhp of power and a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that churns out 190 bhp of power. In addition to this, for the first time, the upcoming Thar could be offered with an optional automatic gearbox as well.
New Gen Maruti Suzuki Celerio : (Expected Launch - October,2020)
Maruti has been selling the current-gen Celerio in the Indian market for the past six years. Now the Indian car manufacturer is finally working on a new generation model and it has been codenamed as YNC. It is expected that Maruti Suzuki will power this hatchback with a 1 litre petrol engine. In addition to this, Maruti Suzuki will also be adding new design features and some upgrades to the features List as well.
Third-Gen Hyundai i20 : (Expected Launch - September,2020)
Hyundai is also gearing up to launch the third generation i20 in the nation. It is one of the most awaited hatchbacks, it will soon be offered in the European market before it launches in India. The European model will be loaded with a fully digital instrument cluster along with wireless smartphone connectivity and new technology related to safety.
Kia Sonet : (Expected Launch - September,2020)
Kia Motors is making use of the Hyundai Venue’s platform and will be launching a sub-4m SUV in the Indian market. The concept model was also showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo. Kia Sonet will be featuring a unique design language on the interior and the exterior to distinguish from the Venue and it will also be equipped with some additional features as well.
Toyota Urban Cruiser : (Expected Launch - August,2020)
With a strategic alliance with Maruti Suzuki, Toyota will be launching the Urban Cruiser that will be a rebadged version of the Vitara Brezza. The Urban Cruiser will be offered with some design updates. In addition to this, Toyota will be offering longer standard-warranty like it was seen on the Glanza.
Tata Hornbill (HBX) : (Expected Launch - October,2020)
At the 2020 Auto Expo, Tata Motors had revealed that they are planning to launch micro-SUV and a concept model was showcased. As of now, we know that the Hornbill or the HBX will be powered with a 1.2 litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that is also seen under the hood of the Altroz. Upon its launch, it will become Tata’s most affordable SUV in the nation. The Indian auto manufacturer is building the Hornbill on its Impact 2.0 platform and it could be offered with similar design highlights as seen on the concept model.
Tata Gravitas : (Expected Launch - October,2020)
Tata has been working on a three-row version of the Harrier SUV and the production-ready avatar of it was displayed at the 2020 Auto Expo. It is known as the Gravitas and it shares the same wheelbase as that of the Harrier. It will be offered with a longer rear overhang to accommodate the third row. The same diesel engine will be carried over from the Harrier but it also is known that a petrol engine will be seen under the hood of the Gravitas.
MG Gloster : (Expected Launch - August,2020)
Along with the Hector Plus, MG Motors is also planning to launch another three-row SUV. It is a new full-size SUV and it is known as the MG Gloster that was showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo. The Gloster is said to be based on the Maxus D90 SUV which is on sale in the Chinese market. It gets powered with a 2.0-litre bi-turbo diesel and 2.0-litre petrol engine. Most likely these engines could make their way into the Indian market as well.
Renault Kiger (HBC) : (Expected Launch - September,2020)
Renault and Nissan have both joined hands and developed the CMF-A platform. With this Renault plans to develop and enter the sub-4m SUV category to launch an aggressively priced model. It is being called as the Kiger and it is expected to be powered with a 1.0-litre HR10 turbo-petrol engine. Renault has confirmed that this Sub 4m SUV will be offered with a sunroof.
