Upcoming NewCar Launches in India during 2020 Festive Season
As we have completed the first race of 2020, we have seen many new cars getting launched. Also with the BS6 emission norms coming into place in April, we have witnessed many changes in the lineup and also some revisions as well. With the festive season now nearing, many new cars will be launched in India. Hence we at MyNewCar.in get to you the list of these new cars that you should be eyeing on.
1. Third-Gen Hyundai i20 : (Launch Date - 5th November 2020) - Pre-Bookings Open at Rs 21,000
Expected Price Range: Rs 7 lakh - Rs 10 lakh Ex-Showroom, India
Hyundai is gearing up to launch the third generation i20 during the festive season in the nation. It is one of the most awaited hatchbacks and the bookings for this premium hatchback has been started with a booking amount of Rs 21,000. It will be offered with projector headlights and fog lights, Z-shaped LED DRL’s, LED taillights, a rear diffuser, and a dual-tone alloy wheel. Inside the cabin, it is expected that upcoming i20 will be equipped with the fully digital instrument cluster, wireless charging, a sunroof, AC vents at the rear and a large touchscreen infotainment unit. Under the hood will be three engine options to choose from - a 1.2-litre petrol engine that will be mated to a 5-speed manual and IVT unit. It will also get a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine that will be coupled to 6-speed iMT (semi-automatic) and 7-speed DCT unit. On the other hand, the diesel model will be powered with a 1.5-litre powerhouse that will only be coupled to a 6-speed manual transmission.
2. Force Gurkha: (Expected Launch: November - December 2020)
Expected Price Range: Rs 10 lakh - Rs 14 lakh Ex-Showroom, India
Force Motors revealed the upcoming Gurkha at the 2020 Auto Expo and it also has been spotted testing many times. The 2020 Gurkha will be offered with revised styling allover, it will be offered with a new front end with LED DRL’s, snorkel, single slat grille, alloy wheels, body mounted tail lamps etc. Also, the interior will get dual tone treatment, captain seats and jump seats at the rear, power windows and touchscreen infotainment unit. Under the hood will be a BS6 compliant 2.6-litre diesel engine that will produce 90 bhp of power and will be mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. It will be offered with a 4x4 system and manual locking differential. It is expected that Force Motors will launch the Gurkha by October 2020 and it will lock its horns with the New Mahindra Thar.
3. Tata Gravitas : (Expected Launch - December 2020)
Expected Price Range: Rs 18 lakh - Rs 23 lakh Ex-Showroom, India
Tata has been working on a three-row version of the Harrier SUV and the production-ready avatar of it was displayed at the 2020 Auto Expo. It is known as the Gravitas and it shares the same wheelbase as that of the Harrier. It will be offered with a longer rear overhang to accommodate the third row. It will be powered with the same 2.0-litre diesel engine that churns out 170 bhp of power. This diesel engine will be mated to a 6-speed manual and it is also expected to get a 6-speed automatic transmission that will be sourced from Hyundai. But it also is known that a petrol engine will be seen under the hood of the Gravitas.
4. Nissan Magnite: (Expected Launch: December 2020)
Expected Price Range: Rs 6 lakh - Rs 11 lakh Ex-Showroom, India
After a lot of spy shots and render images Nissan has finally taken the covers of the production-spec model of the Magnite. The launch is expected to take place during the end of this year and with this Nissan will be entering the highly competitive and trending compact SUV segment. Nissan is offering the Magnite with a muscular front end with its beefed bonnet lines, sleek LEK headlamp unit, L-shaped LED DRL’s, large grille with chrome slats surrounding it, faux skid plates and chunky wheel arches. On the inside it will be equipped with a 360-degree camera, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, fully digital instrument cluster, ambient mood lighting, an air purifier and Nissan Connect car connected technology. Under the hood will be an HRA0 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine and it will be coupled to a 5-speed manual transmission. Nissan can also get in the X-Tronic CVT gearbox as an option.
5. New Mahindra Scorpio: (Expected Launch: December 2020)
Expected Price Range: Rs 10 lakh - Rs 14 lakh Ex-Showroom, India
The next generation Scorpio has been spotted conducting test runs and it is internally codenamed as the Z101. Mahindra is developing the upcoming Scorpio on a ladder-on-frame chassis that also underpins the new Thar. In terms of aesthetics and design, New Scorpio will feature redesigned body panels, lower roofline, a new front fascia with a slotted grille, redesigned front and rear bumper and it will continue to feature its upright silhouette. The cabin will also feature many new upgrades with an overall new upholstery, latest features and it will also get all the modern equipment as compared to the current-gen model. Mahindra will be powering this SUV with an all-new 2.0 liter BS-6 compliant diesel engine that will be able to churn out 170 bhp of power and 400 Nm of torque. It is expected that this engine will be mated to a 6-speed manual and an automatic transmission.
