New Cars Launched In The Month Of May 2019
As we enter the month of May, we have almost completed with the first half of 2019. Up till now, there have been many changes in the lineup of various automotive manufacturers owing to the new safety norms taking place.
With this, we have seen many old models getting discontinued, we also see that many new models have also been launched. So let’s have a look at the list of cars that have been launched in the month of May 2019.
Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza Sports Limited Edition
The Indian car manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki has updated the line up of the Vitara Brezza with the launch of a Sports Limited Edition series. This is basically a new accessories package that includes only some cosmetic changes and no mechanical upgrades.
The Sports Limited Edition package can be fitted into any of the variants from the Arena dealerships and it will come with an additional price of Rs 29,990.
So let’s have a look at the accessories package that Maruti offers in this edition, shall we?
On the exterior, you will be getting body cladding on the sides to give it a beefed-up look, graphics all over the body, chrome garnishes on the front and rear end, door sill-guard and cladding on the wheel arches. Whereas in the cabin, you will be offered with a set of designer mats, new seat covers, neck cushions and a leather cover for the steering wheel.
As we mentioned above that there won't be any mechanical changes. Hence the this limited edition Vitara Brezza will also be powered with the same 1.3-litre diesel unit which will be coupled with a five-speed manual gearbox or an optional AMT unit.
In some months, Maruti Suzuki will be upgrading the mechanical part with the introduction of the much awaited 1.5-litre petrol unit. It is expected that this unit will also get an option for Maruti Suzuki’s Smart Hybrid Technology. With this petrol engine coming in, the Vitara Brezza will be able to compete with more strength with its competitors.
The All New Hyundai Venue
After a lot of waiting and teasing, Hyundai has finally launched the Venue in the Indian market. The Korean car manufacturer has offered this compact SUV with a price tag starting from Rs 6.50 lakh (Ex-Showroom, India). With the launch of the Venue, it is a new compact sub four metre SUV will sit below its elder sibling the Creta.
The Venue is available in a total of 13 different models which is based on five trim levels. Aesthetically, upfront the Venue gets Hyundai signature grille and the LED Daytime Running Lights are placed where normally the headlight unit is placed.
In addition to this, the design highlights include the diamond cut alloy wheels and the tail lamp unit at the rear. This compact SUV measures 3995mm in length, it is wide by 1770mm, it is tall by 1590mm and it also gets a wheelbase measuring 2500mm.
Inside the cabin, the overall design is very modern and the top trim level gets an all-black theme along with faux brushed aluminium trim. In addition to this, the top end variant also comes equipped with rear AC vents, cooled glove box and wireless charging.
What makes the Venue stand out of the crowd is the 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment unit which gets Blue Link Connectivity. In total, the Venue will be offered with 33 connected services.
Mechanically, the Venue has a lot to offer, it gets two petrol and one diesel engines as an option to choose from. One of the petrol engines is a 1.2-litre unit which produces 81 bhp of power and 114Nm of twist.
This petrol mill is also seen under the hood of the Grand i10 and the Elite i20 and this engine will be coupled with five-speed manual transmission only. On the other hand, the other option is a turbocharged 1.0-litre unit that generates 118bhp of power and 171Nm of twist. This turbo petrol mill is being offered with an optional six-speed manual or a seven-speed dual clutch automatic unit.
Coming towards the oil burner, it is a 1.4-litre diesel mill that is matted with a six-speed manual gearbox and it will produce 89 bhp of power and 219 Nm of torque. This is the similar diesel engine that is seen under the hood of the Creta and the Elite i20.
With the launch of the Hyundai Venue, there will be a tough competition between the Tata Nexon, Ford EcoSport and the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza in the Indian market. Bookings for the Venue had already kick-started at the start of May.

2019 BMW X5
BMW has launched the new generation X5 in the Indian market in two trim levels. The entry-level trim is the xDrive 30d Sport Trim which carries a price tag of Rs 72.9 lakh (Ex-Showroom, India). Whereas the top end trim is the xDrive 30d xLine which retails at Rs 82.40 lakh (Ex-Showroom, India).
The new gen BMW X5 was codenamed as the G05 and now this SUV has not only grown in size but also comes loaded with new equipment as compared to the previous model.
BMW has developed the 2019 X5 on its new CLAR Platform and due to this, it is now longer by 36mm, wider by 66mm and it is taller by 19mm than its predecessor. In addition to this, the new X5 also has been offered with an extended wheelbase of 42mm ass compared to the previous model.
In terms of styling and design, the front end of the New X5 gets BMW’s iconic Kidney grille that is now larger give it a beefed-up look. In addition to this, it also gets a newly designed headlight unit which also comes equipped with BMW’s Laser light tech along with its adaptive LED signature.
The front bumper is also redesigned, it now holds large air vents and surrounding it are some black inserts. Moving towards the rear the taillight unit is now sleek in design and it also gets 3D lighting signature.
Moving inside the cabin, the interiors are designed in accordance with BMW’s all-new generation model. It comes equipped with a floating 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, a horizontal centre console and it now gets a fully digital instrument cluster which BMW calls its BMW Live Cockpit Professional display.
BMW, on the other hand, has also updated its iDrive as it now supports gesture and voice commands, a touch screen panel and the display now can be customisable.
Coming towards the creature comfort features, the X5 will now get multifunctional seats, four-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, dynamic ambient lighting, passenger screens and wireless charging. The show stealer in the cabin is the newly designed gear-selector lever which is very modern and sporty.
Popping up the hood, we can notice that, BMW will only be powering both the models of the X5 with a diesel engine. This oil burner is a 3.0-litre turbocharged straight-six block that churns out 261.5 bhp of power and 620Nm of twist.
This is similar to the previous powerhouse but it is now a complaint to the BS-VI emission norms. This diesel mill is coupled with an eight-speed Steptronic transfer case and it gets BMW’s xDrive all-wheel-drive system as standard.
It is expected that in the coming months BMW will also launch a petrol model for the new X5. With the launch of the 2019 BMW X5, it now locks horns with the Mercedes Benz GLE, Volvo XC90, Range Rover Velar and the Audi Q7.

New Ford Aspire Blu
For the Indian market, Ford has launched the Aspire Blu edition which will be available in both petrol and diesel models. The Aspire Blu edition has been launched with a starting price tag of Rs 7.51 lakh (Ex-Showroom, India). If we compare the Aspire Blu with the Figo’s top-spec Titanium Blu edition there are a lot of similarities.
Ford has developed the Aspire Blu edition on the regular Titanium trim level of the Aspire. But this special edition model comes loaded with a lot of cosmetic upgrades that makes it stand out of the rest.
Aesthetically, upfront, the Aspire Blu gets a completely blacked out grille and the fog lamps get some blue surroundings. The rooftop is blacked out and the body panels get blue and black decals all over which complement with the three colour options it is available in, white, moondust silver and smoke.
As we enter the cabin, we get to know that there are some changes offered here as well as compared to the cabin of the regular Aspire. Ford has given the Aspire Blu with a black interior theme which also gets highlights of blue and black theme all over.
The steering wheel is leather wrapped but the technology and features are similar to the ones seen on the Titanium trim level. These include automatic climate control, rear view camera, 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment unit and engine Start and Stop button.
In terms of safety, the safety kit consists of front dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking camera and sensors.
Mechanically there won’t be any changes and the Aspire Blu edition will be powered with the same petrol and diesel powertrains that are seen on the regular Aspire models.
The petrol mill will be a 12-litre three-cylinder pot that produces 95 bhp of power and 120Nm of torque whereas the diesel engine will be a 1.5 litre four cylinder pot that churns out 99 bhp of power and 215Nm of twist. Ford will only be offering the Asire Blu with a five-speed manual gearbox and it won't be available with an automatic transmission.
