Tata unveils its premium hatchback in the Indian market on the 3rd of december 2019.
The Altroz will be launched in the coming year 2020 and so will the prices be revealed then.
Powering this premium hatchback will be a pair of BS6 compliant diesel adn petrol mill
After much ado, the Indian automotive manufacturer Tata Motors, has finally taken the covers off the Altroz for the Indian market on the 3rd of December 2019. The Altroz is the production version of the 45X hatchback concept that was showcased at the last Indian Auto Expo.
With this, the Indian manufacturer will be making a pair of BS6 compliant petrol and diesel engines that will be paired with a manual transmission. With the development of the 45X hatchback concept, the development of its production model also started to take into place. All of this led Tata Motors to venture into the B+ hatchback segment. When compared to the concept model, the Tata Altroz has taken a lot of design inspiration but it also gets the blend of Tata’s element as well. This blend includes the front grille, tail lamp unit and even the wheel arches. In addition to this, even the cabin shares the story with the exterior design. Tata has brought in the beige and black interior scheme that is seen in many latest models along with the steering and touchscreen infotainment unit.
Petrol: 1.2 litre 83 bhp / 200Nm
Diesel: 1.5 litre 88 bhp / 200Nm
Five speed manual transmission
Under the hood of the ALtroz are the engine options that also power the Tata Nexon. But here these engines comply with the BS 6 norms and they also will be introduced with a different state of tune. The petrol version of the Altroz will be powered with a 1.2 litre unit that produces 83 bhp of power and 200 Nm of twist. On the other hand, the diesel model will be powered by a 1.5 litre unit that churns out 88 bhp of power and 200 Nm of torque. Both the petrol and diesel engines will be coupled with a five speed manual gearbox.

All the variants will be made available with common safety features such front dual airbags, ABS with EBD, seat belt reminder system, rear parking sensors, speed alert system and ISOFIX child seat mounts.
Once launched the Tata Altroz will compete head on with the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Hyundai Elite i20, Honda Jazz, Volkswagen Polo and the Toyota Glanza in the Indian market.
Expected launch date and Price
It is expected that Tata Motors will be launching the Altroz in the first half of 2020. It could be launched at the upcoming 2020 Indian Auto Expo. We at MyNewCar are expecting the price to range from Rs 5 lakhs to Rs 8 lakhs Ex-showroom, India.
