Hopefully, the market is in recovery mode and Indian carmakers are also gaining a big share of the pie. With all that done and dusted, here are the new car discounts for the year 2021 you should check before going to grab the keys of your new ride.
Maruti Suzuki India Limited is the best-selling carmaker in the Indian market. With a lot of cars on offer, we have some great discounts across the range. The discounts start with the Maruti Suzuki Wagon-R and go all the way up to Swift LXI which is having discounts worth Rs 54,000.
Surprisingly, the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga which is the best seller of its segment doesn’t have any discount – save for the Rs 4,000 Special Institutional Offer which is standard across all models. The CNG models which are in high demand are also offered with good discounts. You can avail of discounts worth Rs 36,000 on the Alto CNG, discounts worth Rs 33,000 on the S-Presso CNG and Rs 32,000 on the Wagon-R CNG models. Maruti Suzuki offers its premium range of cars through the premium retail chain called Nexa. The Nexa chain of dealerships offers cars like the Baleno, Ignis, S-Cross, XL6 and the Ciaz.
The most selling car from Nexa is the Baleno and you can avail of up to Rs 34,000 worth of discounts on the base variant. The Ciaz can be availed with discounts worth Rs 35,000 and it’s applicable on all the variants. The urban crossover Ignis is also offered with discounts worth Rs 44,000 – save for the Alpha variant. Similar to the hot-selling Ertiga which has big waiting periods, the XL6 also doesn’t offer any cash discount, however, Rs 10,000 exchange and Rs 4,000 corporate offer can be availed. The base variant of the S-Cross i.e the Sigma is offered with discounts worth Rs 62,000 which also includes an addon kit worth Rs 37,000.
While Maruti Suzuki is the best selling carmaker in India, Hyundai has made a strong comeback thanks to the new products like the Creta, Venue, Grand-i10 Nios and the Verna. The market share of the Korean carmaker has grown to an extent as it has become the No. 1 SUV maker in the Indian market. However, due to high demand and long waiting periods, Hyundai SUVs like the Creta, Tucson and Venue don't carry any discounts for April 2021.
The Santro can be availed with discounts worth Rs 35,000 whereas the Nios is offered with discounts worth up to Rs 45,000. The Hyundai i20 iMT Turbo can also be availed with a discount of Rs 15,000.
Honda Cars India hasn’t been having a great journey in the competitive Indian market. However, the all-new Honda City has helped the Japanese carmaker to increase the market share to some extent. Honda recently discontinued the Civic and the CR-V due to low sales and shutdown of the Greater Noida plant.
Talking about the April 2021 discounts, the Amaze is offered with discounts worth up to Rs 35,000 whereas the Jazz gets discounts worth Rs 30,000. The WR-V which is a Venue-rivaling Sub-compact SUV comes with discounts worth Rs 30,000. The all-new City doesn’t have any cash discount but gets a Rs 10,000 exchange bonus.
Renault India has recently launched the new Kiger in the Indian market. The response from the market is great for all the Renault offerings – save for the Duster which now lacks the K9K diesel engine. Talking about the April 2021 discounts, the Kwid is offered with discounts worth Rs 40,000 whereas the Triber can be availed with discounts worth Rs 45,000. The Duster 1.5 petrol is offered with discounts worth Rs 60,000 whereas the turbo range is offered with discounts worth up to Rs 90,000. For the Kiger, Renault is offering 5 years/ 1 lakh km warranty for previous Renault customers.
Ford India has recently launched the EcoSport SE at an attractive price point. Although there are not any direct offers from Ford India, buyers can avail of exchange bonus and corporate discount across the range of cars. In case you have owned a Ford car in the past, you can avail of over Rs 20,000 exchange bonus, the rest of the exchange bonus is Rs 7,000. Other than that, buyers can also avail of Rs 3,000 corporate discount and insurance schemes at discounted rates. If you are lucky enough and have the skill to bargain, some Ford dealers are offering Rs 5,000 -10,000 discount on select Ford cars. The Ford EcoSport SE has just been launched, hence it doesn’t come with any discount.
Volkswagen India is now prepping up to launch the all-new Taigun in the Indian market. As the mainstream lineup of cars from the German carmaker has been in the market for long, one can avail good discounts on select VW cars. The Polo GT TSI can be availed with a cash discount of Rs 25,000 along with Rs 20,000 exchange bonus and Rs 5,000 corporate discount.

Tata Motors has regained the 3rd spot in the Indian automotive sales. Tata Motors was suffering till the launch of the Harrier, Nexon and Altroz which helped the brand to bounce back. Talking about the discounts, the Tata Harrier is offered with discounts worth Rs 65,000 for some variants; the rest of the variants get up to Rs 45,000 discount. Tata Tiago is offered with discounts worth Rs 28,000 whereas the Tigor is offered with discounts worth Rs 33,000. Tata Nexon petrol is offered with discounts worth Rs 3,000 corporate whereas the Nexon diesel gets discounts worth up to Rs 25,000.
Mahindra and Mahindra is the biggest SUV maker in the country but the onslaught of so-called compact SUVs have garnered a huge share of the market. While the Indian SUV maker is working hard on the next-gen XUV500 and Scorpio, the current range of SUVs and MPVs are offered at a good discount. Buyers can avail up to Rs 34,500 discount on the XUV300 petrol range whereas the diesel range is offered with discounts of up to Rs 44,500. Coming to the Marazzo, it is offered with discounts worth up to Rs 41,000 whereas the Bolero is offered with discounts worth up to Rs 17,500. Coming to the popular SUVs, buyers can avail discounts worth Rs 34,500 and Rs 80,800 on the Scorpio and XUV500 range respectively. You can check the detailed table for more information. It is worth noting that the XUV300 gets accessories worth Rs 5,000, Bolero gets a 4 Year Shield warranty, Scorpio gets accessories worth Rs 10,000 whereas the XUV500 gets accessories worth Rs 15,000.
