The Venue is a compact SUV and looks sporty with the new look that is seen on other Hyundai cars also. There is the headlamps plus LEDs at the top while the square DRLs also look good. The rather small tail-lamps are also sporty while it does look more like a crossover. It has all the SUV touches like skid plate, cladding etc while the big alloys fill the wheel-arches nicely. The Venue interior has one of the best interiors in terms of quality and design while it has a sporty all black interior with silver accents while the dials have a sporty outlining along with a three-spoke steering wheel. There are unique round knobs for the climate control while a big touchscreen which is 8inch. Storage is good and pace is decent but not class best in terms of rear seat. Its features list is massive with BlueLink connectivity, touchscreen with all smartphone connectivity, cruise control, climate control, steering controls with voice commands, Arkamys audio, rear camera, air purifier etc.

The Venue is one of the new-age Hyundai cars and drives very different. It feels well made, is agile and quite fun. The 1.0 turbo petrol is quick and gives enough performance while the DCT gearbox is very smooth plus responsive. Even the BS6 diesel is refined and is the best diesel sub-Rs 10 lakh or in its class. The base petrol is smooth and gives decent performance too! It is perfectly sized to use in the city.

The Venue has two petrol engines on offer with the base 1.2l petrol making 83 bhp and 115Nm while the gearbox is a 6-speed manual while the turbo unit is a 1.0 which makes 120 bhp and 172Nm with a 7-speed DCT. The diesel is a new 1.5l unit which makes 90 bhp and 220Nm and is available with a manual gearbox. In terms of fuel economy the petrol 1.2l delivers 17.52 kmpl, 1.0 turbo delivers 18.15 kmpl while the diesel delivers 23.7 kmpl.

In terms of safety features it has six airbags, ABS with EBD, speed sensing auto door lock, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Hill Assist Control (HAC), Brake Assist System (BAS), Isofix.

The Venue has rivals like the Maruti Brezza, Ford EcoSport, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300.

The Venue is priced from Rs 6.7 lakh to Rs 11.3 lakh which makes this a value for moeny SUV which offers a good combination of features plus technology especially with the turbo petrol along with the DCT. It is also fun to drive. One of the top buys in its class overall.
