Renault offers the Kwid with SUV type looks and feel along with many modern technology and features. Recently, Renault has launched the refreshed version of the Kwid which brings in a game changer in the budget hatchback segment. This hatchback now gets a new look, comes equipped with more modern equipment and it also gets a refreshed cabin. Many of the features are taken from the Triber which is its elder sibling. In comparison with the previous models, the new Kwid is offered with a better ground clearance complementing well to its SUV-issh looks.

RENAULT KWID EXTERIOR

With the revamped version of the Kwid now launched in the Indian market, Renault has worked significantly to update the Kwid. On the front end, the Kwid now gets a revised front fascia with a two-step headlight setup in which the upper part being the LED DRL and the headlamp being placed right under it. Overall the styling is very striking and it does look sporty and modern. It gets three sat grille with chrome finish and a redesigned bumper. Moving to the side profile, you will notice that the doors get different decals, the wheel covers are redesigned but the overall profile is very much similar to the predecessor. At the rear end, the Kwid now gets LED taillights and a redesigned bumper making the car look more desirable. The colour options on the Renault Kwid range from Fiery Red, Moonlight Silver, Ice Cool White, Outback Bronze, Electric Blue and Zanskar Blue

RENAULT KWID INTERIOR

Just like the exteriors even the interiors have been revamped. Renault now offers the cabin with a new steering wheel, redesigned dashboard and fully digital instrument cluster. The infotainment system is new and it is sourced from MEDIANAV Evolution which is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and it gets Bluetooth Connectivity and voice commands.

Although the front seats are a bit low but it offers good support and proper view ahead. The dimensions on the Kwid are very compact hence the space at the rear is quite tight and it is a bit of a squeeze for three occupants to sit comfortably. The cabin gets all black finish and the seat upholstery gets a checkered design with red accents which helps to elevate the overall ambience. The Kwid comes with a boot space of 279 litres which isn't quite more but it does have an upper hand in comparison with its rivals.

RENAULT KWID DRIVING

When the engine is at idle, it is very much silent which in terms of a three cylinder unit is very refined. As you tend to accelerate the grunt from the engine can be heard and the vibrations also kick in which can be felt on the steering and the seats. The engine is peppy and doesn't feel lethargic for daily ventures and city runs. When on the highway, it doesn't feel very underpowered but if you are driving the AMT version, overtake has to be planned and be done carefully as there isn't a manual mode available.

RENAULT KWID RIVALS

The Kwid competes with the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso, Upcoming Datsun RediGo facelift Tata Tiago, Hyundai Santro and the Maruti Suzuki Celerio.

Renault Kwid is certainly the biggest threat there ever has been to the Alto. And, the Kwid delivers what it promises. The only thing that we think the Kwid could do with is ABS on the top-end, and the brakes can do with a bit more bite. But overall, it's brilliant; a real bargain. Renault kwid’s other competitors are Hyundai Eon, Datsun Redi Go and Tata Nano GenX.

RENAULT KWID VALUE

The New Renault Kwid retails between Rs 3.02 lakh to Rs 5.11 lakh (Ex-Showroom, India). With the facelift model, Kwid is surely the most attractive model of the lot with its SUV-ish looks. This hatchback is surely for the young lads and for anyone looking for a daily commuter or for city use.
