Nissan was founded in 1933 and is headquartered in Yokohama, Japan. The company sells its cars under the Nissan, Infiniti, and Datsun brands with in-house performance tuning division called Nismo. As of 2013, Renault holds a 43.4% voting stake in Nissan, while Nissan holds a 15% non-voting stake in Renault.
Nissan India, headquartered in Chennai was founded in 2005 as is a subsidiary of Nissan group, Japan. The company offers innovative products across hatchback, MUV, SUV and sedan segments in India. Nissan in India has a portfolio of two brands, Nissan and Datsun. In February 2008, Nissan joined with Renault and signed a MoU with Government of Tamil Nadu to set up a manufacturing plant at Oragadam, near Chennai. The partnership between the two brands exists to this day with several models like Micra, Sunny and Duster being shared with the two brands.
