Formally known as Honda Siel cars India limited, the Japanese carmaker Honda entered the Indian market in 1995. Initially, Honda India was a joint venture between Honda motor company and Usha international. Honda soon bought all the shares from Usha and became the sole subsidiary of Honda. later changed to Honda car India Limited (HCIL), Honda has two manufacturing units in Greater Noida and Rajasthan. The plant in Noida has an estimated capacity of 100,000 units annually.
