With a market share of more than 45 percent, Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) is country’s largest passenger carmaker. The company started production in India in 1983 with its first car- the Maruti 800. Maruti currently has two operational units in Gurgaon and Manesar near Delhi and is further expanding its operations with a new facility in Sanand Gujarat.
MSIL is also the third largest passenger car exporter in India after Hyundai and Nissan, exporting mainly to the African and European countries. Maruti Suzuki model line-up includes Alto 800, Alto K10, Celerio, WagonR, Ritz, Swift, Baleno, Swift DZire, Ciaz, Ertiga, Omni, S-Cross, Vitara Brezza, Eeco, Gypsy and Grand Vitara. Recently, the automaker opened its new Nexa dealerships to sell premium cars like S-Cross and Baleno. Maruti Suzuki is also planning to launch its compact crossover Ignis and Baleno RS in the festive month of September or October.
