Renault Cars In Mumbai
Renault was founded in 1899 by two brothers. Renault Voiturette 1CV was the first Renault car. The first 2-cylinder engine was developed in 1902 followed by Renault’s participation in motor races in and around Europe. The first sale was made in 1905 when Société des Automobiles placed an order for Renault AG1 cars to create a fleet of taxis. During the world wartime, the brand was involved in making military vehicles and ammunition. After that, the company went into great heights and as of today, Renault is the third largest automotive manufacturer in Europe.
Renault India officially started its operations in India a bit late. Renault partnered with Mahindra and brought in the Logan which was phased out along with the end of the alliance in 2010. Renault Fluence was their first car in 2011 followed by the Duster the very next year, which since its inception has been receiving rave reviews with strong sales numbers to back the various awards that it won.
Renault cars in India after the Duster wasn’t quite successful until the Renault Kwid came along, which redefined the budget hatchback market. Renault-Nissan alliance resulted in cars like the Pulse, Scala later. Koleos and Fluence were discontinued later and Capture is Renault’s latest offering for the Indian Market. Renault Modus, Talisman and the 7-seat version of Duster are the upcoming cars in India from Renault. The plan is to build market share as Duster and Kwid were the only models which broke the segment and succeeded.
