Tata Gravitas vs MG Hector Plus - Best 6 Seater Comparison
TATA GRAVITAS VS MG HECTOR PLUS - CHOOSE THE BEST
We are looking for the top 6 seaters in India in 2020 and here the upcoming Tata Gravitas vs Hector Plus is the comparison that we are doing to find out what premium SUV to wait for in the 6-seater space. These are the latest and best cars in this niche price bracket so here is a comparo of the same.
Tata has not revealed the dimensions of the Gravitas but we expect to be longer than the Harrier with the rear section upgraded. The roof of the Gravitas has been changed to have the third row and the design is also different from the Harrier. The Hector Plus has less change in terms of dimensions but the design has changed even more than the Gravitas. For example the Gravitas from the front still looks like a Harrier while the rear design meanwhile is different. In the Hector Plus it is the opposite with the front end having a new look and sportier. We do think the Tata Gravitas will have more changes in the production version though. In terms of length the Gravitas would be expected to be bigger though.
INTERIORS AND SPACE
The reason you are buying one of these cars is for the space and comfort. Both of these offer a chauffeur driven option in the form of captain seats in the middle. The seats in the second are individual seats which are comfortable and spacious. Both the Gravitas and Hector Plus offer a different interior upholstery too with the Plus having a light brown tan look while the Gravitas has a lighter colour. Both rear seats have a recline function and more adjustability plus also more storage and access to basic features. The difference could be the third row where the Hector Plus has a smaller third which MG also says is for children and for short journeys. The Gravitas has an extended roofline which means headroom is better at the third row. Else in terms of features the Hector Plus has more with a lot of added features including a panoramic sunroof, massive touchscreen and connected tech. The Gravitas does not offer the connected tech plus some features but it has the panoramic sunroof plus the basic luxury features to keep the owners happy.
The Hector Plus offers you a turbo petrol and a diesel with the diesel having a manual only while the petrol has a DCT and the manual petrol being a hybrid. The Gravitas will be diesel only but unlike the Hector Plus would be coming in also automatic with the 6-speed torque converter.
The Hector Plus has more features and more luxury while the Gravitas(Tata Safari) promises better third row space, an option of a diesel automatic along with better off-road ability due to the Land Rover platform. Thus you can wait for the Gravitas to hit the roads in a few months if you want a rugged 6-seater with a robust suspension. Else the Hector Plus is more suited for luxury seeking customers.
