India’s most beloved car manufacturer Maruti suzuki has officially released the details of the 2017 S-cross facelift. The new S-cross will be offered with five colours and will be available in four variants. The bookings for the 2017 S-cross facelift has officially started and one can book this car with a pre-booking amount of Rs 11,000 at the Nexa showrooms all over India. Maruti-Suzuki will be launching the S-cross facelift on the 28th of September 2017.
So what can you expect from the new S-cross?
Most of the major changes are at the front end of the car, Maruti has offered it with a bold new design. The grille is huge and is a complete new design it gets vertical slat and thick chrome bordering. The headlamps are also newly designed and it held very well between the grille. The headlamps features LED projector and DRL’s. To give this crossover a muscular look the the bonnet and front bumper designs are beefed up. Walking to the side profile, there isn't much changes, but it surely gets new wider tyres- 215/60 R16 tyres. Along with this the tyres will sit on a new two-tone machine-finished alloy wheels. If you move to the rear end of the car, it gets new LED tail lamps.
Stepping into the car, the S-cross features new small changes. The centre console gets new piano-black trims, the dashboard gets soft material on it and the central arm rest gets a new leather finish. The touchscreen infotainment system is the same as the previous model, but now its is compatible with android auto and Apple carplay.
Maruti-Suzuki has started focusing on the safety features and this time the S-Cross is being tested at Rohtak which is the company’s high tech research and development facility. We are expecting the new S-Cross to come handy with rear ISO-FIX seat mounts, ABS, with EBD and front dual airbags as standard.
Lets pop of the hood and lets what Maruti- Suzuki has to offer us. The Indian manufacturer has dropped the 1.6 litre diesel engine and it now offers a 1.2 litre diesel engine with mild hybrid technology. This is the same engine which is available on the Ciaz and Ertiga and it is capable of producing 90 bhp of power and 200Nm of torque.
The mild hybrid technology offers brake energy regeneration, start and stop system and also to offer mild torque an Integrated Starter Generator motor is used. With the use of this technology we can assure you that the car will be more fuel efficient but due to the new GST regulations it will be a bit expensive that the 1.3 litre version.
