Ford India has voluntarily recalled around 7249 units of the EcoSport, which were manufactured between the months of November 2017 to March 2018. The American car manufacturer has issued this recall to update the PCM software which is known as the Powertrain Control Module.

This software update is for the 1.5 litre, three-cylinder petrol engine that produces 123 horsepower and 150Nm of twist. With the software update done, it will help to eliminate the problem of any chances of sudden deceleration or drainage of battery.

Customers which are affected will be contacted by Ford via emails or a letters. On the other hand, one can even visit Ford India official website and check if their EcoSport has been affected and will have to get the software updated from their nearby Ford authorised service centres. The customer's needs to enter their vehicles VIN i.e Vehicle identification Number on the website and they will be notified.
