All you need to know about the Ford Freestyle
All you auto enthusiasts out there in the nation we have some exciting news for you. Yes, as you read the headline, you must have guessed it right, Ford is widening its fleet of cars in the Indian market. And this one is special as it is focussed for the budget segment customer.
Ford will be introducing the Freestyle in the Indian market in the coming months. First look of the Ford Freestyle, is that of a crossover. But Ford calls it as the Compact Urban Vehicle, mind you.
Let's get straight to the point and go through the important specifications which you guys have been eagerly waiting for. First up is the:
First look and impression, the Freestyle has the body shell of the Figo, but Ford has given this Compact Urban Vehicle a more mean and tough look as compared to the Figo. At the front, the Freestyle is offered with hexagonal mesh grille painted in black and the bumper is sculpted in a unique design with the lower part of it is blackened out. In addition to this the it also gets front bumper mounted front fog lights. Moving towards the side profile, Ford has offered blacked out wing mirrors, body cladding all over to give it much of a crossover type look and it also gets strips that run across the doors to add some hint of sportiness. In addition to this, it also gets roof rails which are also blackened and it also gets six spoke alloy wheels.
Ford will be offering the Freestyle with modern interior which can me somewhat similar from the Figo Facelift or the New EcoSport. It will get a 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system and it will be powered by Ford's own SYNC3 Connectivity system. In addition to this, the infotainment system will also support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
When it comes to safety Ford hasn't ever compromised anything for it. Just like many if it's fleet of cars the Freestyle will also get front dual airbags and ABS as standard across all it variants.
Engine and transmission:
Ford Freestyle will be powered with both the petrol and diesel engine. It will get the brand new 1.2-litre Dragon petrol engine which is capable of producing 90 bhp of power. While the diesel trim will get the 1.5 litre Dragon diesel mill which generates 100bhp of power. As of now both the engines will be matted with a five speed manual transmission.
We are expecting Ford to launch the Freestyle by the month of April 2018. Stay tuned to MyNewCar to know more about the Ford Freestyle.
