MG Motors officially reveals the Hector for the Indian market before its official launch
MG Motors officially showcases the Hector for the Indian market.
They will be commencing with the bookings for the same from the start of June.
It is expected to be launched in the Rs 15 lakh to Rs 20 lakh price range.
Finally, MG Motors showcases the Hector for the Indian market after all the spy images and the documents which had been leaked in the past months. In the month of April 2019, MG Motors had revealed its iSmart connected car technologies for the Hector.
With the unveiling of this SUV, MG Motors India has announced that they will kickstart with the bookings from June 2019. As of now, it is only known that MG Motors will be launching the Hector in the month of June but the official dates will be announced in the coming week.
MG Motors will be launching the Hector in four trim levels, namely- Style, Super, Smart and Sharp. Aesthetically, the Hector will be made available in five different paint schemes such as glaze red, aurora silver, starry black, burgundy red, and candy white.
The top of the line Sharp variant will come loaded with first in segment features such as AL-based online navigation and voice recognition, internet, front parking sensors, a panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera and a huge 10.4-inch touchscreen infotainment unit. In addition to this, the Hector will also be equipped with all LED headlight unit and fog lamp unit, heated ORVM’s, TPMS, height adjustment tailgate and remote car operation features.
In terms of the safety kit, all the trim levels of the Hector will be loaded with common safety features such as ESP, TCS, hill hold control, vehicle stability management and disc brakes on all four wheels.
Powering the Hector will be options to choose between a turbocharged petrol and diesel powerhouse. In addition to this, the petrol mill will also be coupled with an optional 48V hybrid system. A turbo-petrol mill is a 1.5-litre unit that can produce 141 bhp of power and 250Nm of twist which will be coupled with a six-speed manual as well as an optional DCT automatic gearbox.
But if you're thinking of going with the petrol hybrid motor, it will only be available with a manual transmission. Except for the Style trim level, the petrol hybrid option will be available on all other trim levels.
On the other hand, the turbocharged oil burner will be a 2.0-litre unit that is being sourced by FCA. This diesel mill can generate 170 bhp of power and 350Nm of torque and it will be coupled with a six-speed manual transmission.
When MG launches the Hector in the Indian market, it will directly lock its horns with Tata Harrier, Hyundai Tucson, Jeep Compass and the Mahindra XUV500. Toyota will be announcing the price tag for the Glanza on the 6th of June
Toyota to launch the Glanza on the 6th of June 2019.
Bookings to start from the first week of June.
It will only be powered with a 1.22-litre petrol mill with both options of a manual and CVT units.
After all the hype with the spy images surfing around the internet of the Toyota Glanza, the Japanese car manufacturer has finally announced the official launch dates. Toyota will be launching the Glanza on the 6th of June 2019. With the announcement of the dates, Toyota has also released a new video which features the front fascia of this premium hatchback.
According to the recent spy images, we had seen that a Glanza in red paint scheme was spotted at a dealership. These spy images also revealed the interiors of the same. In terms of aesthetics and design, the Glanza is very much identical to the Baleno. The changes seen are the use of new twin-slat chrome grille that also holds the Toyota badge at the front. The Japanese car manufacturer will only be retailing the Glanza in two trim levels- G and V. if we compare these two variants with the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, it is equivalent to the Zeta and the Alpha models.
Under the hood of the Toyota Glanza will be a 1.2-litre K12B petrol mill, which will be able to churn out 83 bhp of power and 113Nm of twist. This gasoline powered motor will be coupled with a five-speed manual gearbox and it will also come with an option for a CVT unit.
Toyota will not bring in a diesel engine option for the Glanza, but according to some media reports, we get to know that, Toyota will soon get a 1.2-litre K12C Dual VVT Petrol motor that will be coupled with a dual battery mild hybrid technology.
It is expected like all other Toyota cars even the Glanza will be offered with a standard warranty of three years/1,00,000 km. In terms of pricing, it is expected that the Glanza will be priced slightly over the Baleno.
Once launched it will compete for head-on with the Honda Jazz, Hyundai i20 and the upcoming Tata Altroz in the Indian market.
Mahindra to equip the XUV 500 with Apple CarPlay from this month end
Mahindra introduces Apple Car Play as a new connectivity option.
This will only be available on the top-spec W11 (O) trim level.
Other trim levels will just get Android Auto as a connectivity feature.
Nowadays, with the growth in technology and advanced features, even the entry-level cars are coming loaded with a lot of techs. With this, now Mahindra has announced that they will be equipping the XUV 500 with Apple Car Play connectivity options from the 31st of May 2019.
According to some sources, we at MyNewCar get to know that, Mahindra has already started listing the availability of these connectivity features on the official XUV 500 brochure online. Apple Car Play will only be available of the top end trim level- W 11 (O). On the other hand, the other variants- W7, W9 and W11 (O) will only get Android Auto as a connectivity feature.
This introduction and upgrading of tech done in the XUV 500 can be seen some soon after Tata introduced the Harrier in its line up which is the arch-rival in the competition. Previously, Mahindra had revised the XUV 500 and this brought in a new entry-level W3 trim level.
As per some media reports, we get to know that the Indian car manufacturer has also started testing a BS-VI compliant 2.0 litre, four-cylinder oil burner.
According to the reports it suggests that the engine will be available in three states of tune and with this, the XUV 500 will get the most powerful iteration. This same BS-VI compliant engine will further be seen under the hood of the Scorpio and the New Thar.
In addition to this, Mahindra is also working a new generation for the XUV 500. This new generation will be co-developed in accordance with Ford. Skoda will be revealing the facelift of the Superb in the coming days
Skoda will be globally revealing the new gen Superb at the 2019 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship.
Changes will be restricted to technology and features updates.
It will also get a Petrol Hybrid Motor under its hood.
Skoda has now released few teasers which state that they will soon introduce a new facelift model for the Superb. It will be officially Globally revealed at the 2019 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship that will be held in Bratislava, Slovakia.
According to the teaser images and video we get to know that, Skoda will be introducing a full Matrix LED headlamp unit, LED fog lights at the front. Whereas at the rear end, the facelift of the Superb will come equipped with full LED tail-lamps which gets dynamic indicators. In addition to this, on the boot lid there won't be the Skoda logo, it will rather hold the band name spelt out across it. More or less most of the silhouette is identical to the current gen model.
Skoda claims that the upcoming Superb facelift will be equipped with new passive as well as active safety features. These features are usually seen on high-end expensive luxury cars.
Also according to the officials from Skoda, they claim that the new model will be more comfortable and luxurious than the current gen model. It is expected that new Superb will be equipped with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone connectivity options as standard across all the variants.
The teaser video further showcases that the Super facelift will be powered with a Plug-in hybrid option which will be coupled with a 1.4 TSI petrol mill. This petrol mill is also seen under the hood of the VW Passat GTE and these both models also share the same platform.
It is not yet confirmed that the New Skoda Superb will make its way to the Indian shores. But we expected that Skoda will launch this sedan in the Indian market sooner or later.
