At the 2018 Auto Expo which was held in the nation's capital, Tata Motors had taken everyone by a storm as they previewed the 45X concept. As of now, Tata Motors is all gearing up with the development of this premium hatchback. In accordance with this, Tata Motors has now officially named the 45X Concept as the “Altroz”.
“Some days ago, Tata Motors filed a trademark for the name Tata Altroz. So what exactly is does Altroz mean? Don't worry we have got you covered, Altroz is derived from a sea bird Albatross. Tata Motors has uploaded the latest teaser about the same, in which it showcases that the Altroz will stand for- agility, performance and efficiency and in addition to this, the Altroz will also boast of a best in class performance and spacious cabin space”
The Altroz will be the second car to be rolled out from Tata Motors stable that has been developed on its brand new Impact Design 2.0 language. According to some spy shots, it is also known that it gets slimmer version “Humanity Line” grille upfront which is also seen on the Harrier. In addition to this, it will also get a larger headlight unit, upswept window line and newly designed angular front bumper.
On the inside, it is expected that the Tata Altroz will most likely get a large touchscreen infotainment unit, AC vents under the centre screen, semi-digital instrument cluster, T shaped centre console.
The powertrain for the Altroz is still not confirmed, but it is expected that in two petrol mill options. A 1.2-litre turbocharged unit which powers the Nexon and 1.2 litres naturally aspirated unit which is seen under the hood of the Tiago. As of now, we don't have much information, whether Tata Motors will bring in a diesel motor for the Altroz, this is because of the BS VI emission norms which are very strict on diesel engine which might make the Altroz significantly expensive.
Most likely, the Tata Altroz will be launched somewhere around the second half of 2019. Once launched the Tata Altroz will lock its horns with the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Hyundai i20, and the Volkswagen Polo in the Indian market. PSA Group announces its come in the India market with the Citroen Brand.
It will be launching its cars by the end of the year 2021
As of now, the range of products hasn't been announced but powertrain and transmission manufacturing unit has been built at Hosur
Some days ago we had reported that the PSA Group is once again stepping into the Indian Automotive market. With this, the French car conglomerate will re-enter will be done with the Citroen brand. A long time ago, we had seen Peugeot from the PSA Group on the Indian roads due to its collaboration with Premiere Automobile back in the ’90s. And with this, we saw the launch of the 309 sedans.
But this product did make a huge impact in the market and hence the sales number were very less also the dealership network wasn't so strong. In addition to the growing labour trouble, Peugeot decided to exit the Indian market.
The announcement of the comeback of the PSA Group comes after two years since the parent companies such as Peugeot, Citroën and DS cars expressed their interest to once again enter the India market. This is being done with a joint venture with the CK Birla Group. The First Citroen model to go on sale is expected to be done towards the end of the year 2021.
The PSA Group wants to expand its outreach in India and also wants to expand in new markets. As Citroen is known for their high quality and unique design cars. In accordance with this, the PSA Group has acknowledged the new industry norms that will come into action in the Indian automotive market and these norms meet the Citroen product range.
As of now, there isn't any official announcement of the range of cars that will be launched in India. Although, a C5 Aircross SUV from Citroen was spotted testing but still isn't clear whether it will be launched in the Indian market. During the annual results announcement of the group, The Chairman and Managing Board of PSA Group, Carlos Tavares said that "We have selected Citroen as the brand for our India comeback.
We have already invested and created manufacturing footprint in India. We have a powertrain plant, a vehicle plant and a partner in India and we are now building a network to support the launch of this new brand in the country."
In addition to this, Linda Jackson the Chief Executive Officer of Citroen has quoted that,
"We are very proud to launch Citroën in India, one of the fastest growing markets in the world. Building on the brand's success in Europe with 5 consecutive years of growth, I am convinced that Citroën’s selling proposition of unique styling, eco-friendly and comfortable cars at the heart of the market has all the potential to satisfy Indian customers."
For the manufacturing and supply of powertrains and transmission, PSA Group has established a facility in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. the powertrains and transmission manufactured here will be exported for its global as well as for the domestic automotive market. By the end of 2021 PSA Group aims to increase its sales by 50% outside the European market. This will be achieved by the launch of Peugeot in North America, Opel in Russia and finally the Citroen in the Indian market.

Maruti Suzuki Updates the Ignis with the 2019 iteration
Maruti Suzuki launches the 2019 Ignis in the Indian market at a price tag starting from Rs 4.79 lakh (Ex-Showroom, Delhi)
The Ignis now comes with some more standard safety features

Last month, we saw that Maruti Suzuki had updated its fleet of products with the 2019 iteration. With this, now the Indian car manufacturer had launched the 2019 Ignis at a starting price of Rs 4.79 lakh (Ex-Showroom, Delhi). The 2019 model of the Ignis has been updated with modern technology and some cosmetic upgrades.
On the exterior, the basic design of the Ignis remains the same. But only the Zeta trim level and the Alpha trim level bets addition roof rails. In term technology, now all the variants of the ignis get the high-speed alert system, seat belt reminder for the driver and passenger side and reverse parking assist system as standard.
Just like the previous model, the 2019 Ignis will also come equipped with front dual airbags, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child seat mount and seat belt pretensioners with force limiters as standard.
In addition to this, Maruti Suzuki is offering the Ignis with six single tone colours and three dual tone colours. The Indian car manufacturer is providing the 2019 Ignis with four manual variants and three AGS trim levels. Powering the Ignis will only be 1.2-litre K-Series petrol mill that is capable of generating 82 bhp of power and 113 Nm of torque.
At the lunch of the 2019 Ignis, RS Kalsi, Senior Executive Director of Sale and Marketing, Maruti Suzuki India, said that, gnis, RS Kalsi, senior executive director (marketing and sales) Maruti Suzuki India, said,
“Today, Ignis has changed the way customers look at the premium compact segment. IGNIS has established itself as a complete package for those who seek the unconventional. Taking passenger safety to next level, we have loaded IGNIS with more safety features. These will be offered as standard across all variants. To enhance the design of IGNIS and give it a strong road presence, new roof rails are offered in Zeta and Alpha variants. We are confident that the updated version of IGNIS will be even more attractive for the premium urban car user.”

Jeep India recalls the Compass
Jeep Compass Diesel 2WD models manufactured between 18th December 2017 to 18th November 2017 have been affected.
In this recall, the PCM software will be updated which will help resolve the issue.
Jeep India has officially announced that they are recalling its most popular SUV- The Compass. As per the reports we get to know that only Diesel Two Wheel Drive model of the Jeep Compass’s which have been manufactured between 18th of December 2017 uptill 18th of November 2018.
So why has the Jeep Indian initiated this recall? Worry not we have got you covered. As per the official announcement, the recall is taken place to update the vehicle’s Powertrain Control Module (PCM) software. 11,002 units of the Jeep compass have been affected and they will be part of the recall. As mentioned above, the recall is not applicable for the petrol 4 Wheel drive and Diesel 4 Wheel drive models which have been manufactured in that same period.
FCA India has officially announced that "This action is to correct product variations that may cause certain vehicles to exceed the regulatory threshold for particulate matter emissions." Jeep also clarified the recall is not a safety recall.”
Jeep India will get in contact with these 11,002 owners of the Compass through their dealership networks. An appointment will be scheduled to address this issue. According to Jeep India, this issue will be fixed with a software update which will take only 15 minutes to be done.
