Mercedes-Benz has just announced that they will be launching the C-class facelift on the 20th of September. At the Geneva Motor Show, Mercedes-Benz had showcased this latest model. Along with the cosmetic updates, the German luxury car manufacturer will also provide some mechanical upgrades.
The upcoming C-Class facelift is based on the W205 platform that was first introduced in 2014. Aesthetically, at the front, this sedan will come equipped with a fresh new LED headlight unit, also the front bumper will be redesigned. Moving towards the side profile, the facelift model of the C-Class will run on a new design alloy wheel, whereas the top end trims will come with panoramic sunroof. Just like front fascia, at the rear, the bumpers will be revamped and it will also get a new design tail lamp unit with a new LED pattern.
On the inside, Mercedes will be offering premium upholstery, auto-dimming rearview mirrors, new steering wheel, a high resolution 10.25 inch COMMAND infotainment unit and a 12.3 inch digital instrument console unit. Also, the upcoming C-Class facelift will come equipped with the dual touchpad control system which is seen on the E-Class and the S-Class
The upcoming C-Class facelift is expected to be powered with a1.5 litre, turbocharged petrol engine. With this the outgoing 2.0 litre petrol engine will be replaced. Although the new engine has 1.5 litre displacement, the power figures are similar to the 2.0 litre engine, but there will be a mild drop in the torque figures. On the other hand, the diesel version will be powered with a 2.0 litre, four cylinder engine which will be compatible to the BS-VI norms and it will be available in two state of tunes. Talking about the transmission, the German luxury car manufacturer will be introducing the 9G-Tronic automatic gearbox which will inturn replace the older 7G-Tronic unit.
It can be expected that C-Class facelift will be dear than most probably a lakh or two than the outgoing model.
