2021 BMW 3 Series Gran Limousine Launched at 51.5 L - Review
2021 BMW 3 Series Gran Limousine Launched at Rs 51.5 Lakh - Pics, Specs, Features, Variants & First Impression
BMW has launched the 3 Series Gran Limousine in India and it is basically a 3 Series with an extended wheelbase. However that opens up a new segment for BMW to play in since it is the only car in its class to now have a long wheelbase version hence giving it an advantage. Here are all of the details.
BMW 3 Series Gran Limousine Specs
The most important number for the 3 Series Gran Limousine is the extra 110 millimetres of wheelbase being added. That increases the length to 4,819 millimetres and the 2,961-millimetre wheelbase makes it the longest wheelbase in its class and the one with the most space. There are two engine options as the range starts with a two-litre four-cylinder petrol engine with the BMW 330Li and that has an output of 258 hp and maximum torque of 400 Nm. Then there is also a two-litre four-cylinder diesel engine with the BMW 320Ld which produces an output of 190 hp and a maximum torque of 400 Nm. Standard is an 8-speed automatic.
BMW 3 Series Gran Limousine Features & Tech
The 3 Series Gran Limousine has many features with some of the best ones being listed here. The spec starts with standard features like Panoramic Glass Sunroof, Comfort Seats in front, new ‘Vernasca’ leather upholstery, Parking Assist with Reverse Assist, Ambient Lighting, BMW Live Cockpit Professional and Wireless Charging. Then there is the top of the line M Sport ‘First Edition’ which offers a BMW Head Up Display, BMW Gesture Control, Comfort Access and Surround view cameras with 360 view including top, panorama and 3D view.
BMW 3 Series Gran Limousine First Impressison Review
The 3 Series Gran Limousine is best sampled from the rear seat as the extra space is best felt there. The legroom plus headroom is simply more than any other car in its class. The seats are also more comfortable than the standard 3 Series which means that it is easy to stretch your legs. The car though is best used as a four seater since it has a large transmission tunnel.
Up front the car gets small changes in the wood finish plus appearance while the dashboard is typical BMW 3 Series and we are not complaining. Quality is brilliant as expected. Also a big change from the standard 3 Series is the ride quality since the suspension is softer and that makes for a comfortable experience. Most 3 Series owners would be driven and that is where the better ride quality and the softer suspension does help.
BMW 3 Series Gran Limousine Variants & Prices
The new BMW 3 Series Gran Limousine is available in one diesel variant (BMW 320Ld Luxury Line) and two petrol variants (BMW 330Li Luxury Line and BMW 330Li M Sport ‘First Edition’) which are locally produced. The ex-showroom prices are –
BMW 330Li Luxury Line - INR 51,50,000
BMW 320Ld Luxury Line - INR 52,50,000
BMW 330Li M Sport ‘First Edition’ - INR 53,90,000
2021 BMW 3 Series Gran Limousine Verdict
The 3 Series Gran Limousine then is hardly a lot more expensive over the standard 3 Series yet the increased comfort levels plus the extra space and more luxury does make it worth it. The Gran Limousine gets more features and is better for our roads but also does not sacrifice the driving experience that BMW is known for.
