The 2021 Tata Safari was officially revealed today. Tata Motor's New Flagship SUV - 6 / 7 Seater Safari is a three row model of 5 Seater Tata Harrier. The production of new Safari has started with launch scheduled on Feb 4th,2021 when the variant wise prices will be announched and will officially go on sale in India. The New 2021 Safari is built on Tata’s New Global Advanced Architecture (OMEGARC) platform, which is based on Land Rover's D8 platform as compared to the X2 body on frame chassis for the old Safari.

The new Safari is 60mm longer with a length of 4661mm and width of 1894mm. It is also 80 cm taller and weighs 70 kg more than the Harrier due to the added 3rd row.

The new Safari's design is very similar to the Harrier from the front besides a new chrome-finished grille,new silver skid plate, split LED headlamps with projector lens and dual-tone machine cut 18-inch alloys. But the Safari gets a completely new rear design with stepped roof, roof-rails with Safari moniker, redesigned LED tail lights and new tailgate. It also gets a quarter window inspired by the old Safari.

The 2021 new Tata Safari SUV will be powered by the same BS6-compliant 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine like the Harrier. The Engine develops 168 bhp of power and 350 NM of max torque. The top speed of the new Safari is expected to be around 175kmph. The New Tata Safari will have a 6-speed manual gearbox along with an optional 6-speed automatic torque converter gear box. It has three engine Drive Modes (Eco, City, Sport) along with a new ESP based Drive Terrain modes- Normal, Tough and Wet as compared to Harrier
2021 Tata Safari Variants, Price Range, Colours - Whats New as Compared to Harrier
The 2021 Tata Safari will be available in 6 variants - XE, XM, XT, XT+, XZ, XZ+ with price expected to range between Rs 15 to 23 lakh (ex-showroom) - a premium of about 1 lakh more than Harrier. The New Tata Safari will have an additional blue colour option as compared to the Harrier. All the other colour options incuding dual tone colours of Harrier will also be available on Safari.

The New Safari gets all the modern connected technology, comfort and entertainment features including all wheels disc brakes, electronic parking brakes with auto hold function, 6 airbags, 2nd row with captain seats, dedicated AC vents for third row, 8-inch touch-screen unit, JBL audio system, panoramic sunroof with rain sensing function, iRA connected car technology with a range of features like remote commands, OTA updates, vehicle diagnostic and more
