The Alcazar is the smallest SUV here but not by a big margin and rather interestingly despite being the smallest, it has the longest wheelbase in its class. The Alcazar has a length of 4500mm while the Safari stands at 4661mm while the Hector Plus is at 4720mm. In terms of width the Alcazar is at 1790mm while the Safari is at 1894mm with the Hector Plus coming at 1835mm. As said earlier the Alcazar wheelbase at 2760mm is more than Safari or Hector Plus at 2741mm/2750mm.

The Alcazar and Hector Plus offer you more choice with petrol and diesel engines while the Safari is diesel only. The Alcazar comes with a 2.0l petrol with 159hp and 191Nm while the Hector Plus has a 1.5l turbo petrol with 143hp and 250Nm. Both cars have a 6-speed manual while the Hector Plus gets a 6-speed DCT and a CVT with the Alcazar getting a 6-speed torque converter.
In diesel the Alcazar gets a 1.5l diesel with 115hp/250Nm with also a 6-speed manual/torque converter auto. The Safari has a bigger 2.0l diesel with 170hp and 350Nm with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter auto. The Hector Plus has also a 2.0l diesel with 170hp and 350Nm with only a 6-speed manual.

You are paying a lot and hence expecting a lot. All cars with their top-end trims have panoramic sunroof, 18-inch alloys, electronic parking brake, connected tech, premium audio system and more. The Safari is the one with the smallest touch screen and also a part digital cluster while the other two get bigger touch screens and a digital cluster. Powered driver’s seat is there for all too while the second row has captain seats with all of the cars as well. The Alcazar goes one up with all headrest cushions at second row, table with retractable cup holder for second row, rear window sunshade, 2nd row console armrest with smart phone charger. There is also a 2nd row reclining seat while there is one touch tip and tumble seats. The Hector Plus like the Alcazar gets ambient lighting but the Alcazar has more options while the Hector Plus gets ventilated seats plus a 360 degree camera and heated wing mirrors. The Safari lacks some features here but has terrain response modes similar to the traction modes of the Alcazar.

Petrol Alcazar starts at Rs 16.30 lakh and goes till Rs 19.8 lakh. The Hector Plus starts at Rs 13.6 lakh and goes till Rs 19.18 lakh. The diesel Alcazar starts at Rs 16.5 lakh and goes till Rs 20 lakh. The diesel Hector Plus starts at Rs 15.04 lakh and goes till Rs 19.6 lakh. The Safari starts at Rs 14.9 lakh and goes till Rs 21.8 lakh. The Safari is for those who like the road presence and off-roading ability but it is expensive and lacks features but it has the style. The Hector Plus has space and also the features and is a good value package. The Alcazar might be smaller but has more space and features along with the most powerful petrol engine. It is our choice for the 6 & 7 seater petrol SUV.
Incase you are looking to buy a 6 & 7 seater diesel SUV, we would recommend the Alcazar if you are more interested in fuel economy as compared to engine peformance, But if you want a powerful and safe diesel SUV with decent fuel economy, Safari is also a very good option to buy
