Maruti Suzuki Sales faces a decline once again in Nov 2019
India’s most beloved automotive manufacturer- Maruti Suzuki India has announced a drastic drop in sales for the month of November 2019. According to Maruti Suzuki India, they have faced a drop of 3.2 percent in domestic sales for the month of November 2019.
During the month of October 2019, the sales volume were high with the back up from the festive season. Hence the Indian car manufacturer once again faces a drop in sales volume. In total, Maruti Suzuki managed to sell 141,400 units in November 2019, which is lower than the 146,018 units sold in November 2018. Let's have a look at how the products have performed, shall we?
Compact sedan and Hatchbacks saw a growth of 7.6 percent in sales. (Dzire, Wagon R, Swift, Baleno)
Starting from the compact sedan and hatchback segments, products such as Dzire, Wagon R, Baleno and Swift showed a good number of sales. Due to which these models gave a strong back up for the manufacturer last month. With this if we compare the sales figures of these models with last year, in November 2019 Maruti Suzuki saw a growth of 7.6 percent by selling 78,013 units as compared to 72,533 units sold in November 2018.
Mini vehicle segment witnessed a drop in volumes by 12.2 percent. (Alto K10, Alto 800, S-Presso)
On the other hand, as we look in the mini vehicle segment, a significant drop was noticed. The mini vehicle segment consists of cars such as Alto K 10, Alto 800 and the newly launched S-Presso. A drop in sales 12.2 percent was noticed with only 26,306 units sold in November 2019 whereas last year in November 2018 29,954 units were sold.
Mid size segment (Ciaz) faced a drop in sales volume by 62.3 percent.
UV segment (Vitara Brezza, Ertiga, XL6) saw a slight decline by 1.3 percent.
Vans (Ecco) faced a hit of sales figure by 27.7 percent.
Coming to the mid size segment with cars such as the Ciaz, faced a major hit. The drop in sales accounted for 62.3 percent with only 1448 units sold in November 2019. Last year in November 2018 Maruti Suzuki sold over 3838 units. In addition to this, UV segment with modesl such as the Vitara Brezza, Ertiga and the XL6 saw a slight decline by 1.3 percent. Last year during the month of November 2018, Maruti Suzuki sold over 23,512 units whereas last month November 2019 they managed to sell over 23,204 units. On the other hand, even the vans faced a hit by 27.7 percent with a drop in sales as they managed to sell 10,162 units in comparison with 14,053 units sold last year in the month of November.
2286 units of the Baleno were dispatched to Toyota for the Glanza hatchback.
Export sales also faced a decline by 7.7 percent
Last month, Maruti Suzuki India dispatched 2286 units of the Baleno to Toyota for the Glanza. Also the Indian car manufacturer exported about 6944 units and with this a decline in exports by 7.7 percent was seen. Overall with the domestic and export sales, Maruti Suzuki India faced a drop by 1.9 percent in total with the figures when compared with November 2018.
