New Ford EcoSport Facelift to get new L shaped DRL Indicator
New 2021 Ford EcoSport Facelift Spotted with new L shaped DRL Indicators - Design & Features Update - October Launch?
The EcoSport has always been the car that has shaped Ford India's fortunes and till date it is its most successful car. Hence to keep it competitive, Ford has constantly updated the subcompact SUV with variants and feature updates. The latest one has been the launch of a new variant without the spare wheel at the back and a tyre repair kit. Now Ford India is working on bringing a more detailed facelift of the EcoSport with extensive updates. A test car of the facelifted EcoSport has been seen on our roads and it shows the exterior features that Ford has planned for us.
As a start it will get a different front bumper along with L-shaped DRLs which will act as turn indicators. Even the grille would be changed with minor updates. The rear can be seen to be the same as the current model while a new alloy wheel design could be offered in a black/grey colour. The interior would get a new colour option and maybe new features. The EcoSport has already been revised many times with feature updates and it has kept up with its competition too. The feature list contains connected tech, an electric sunroof, a 9-inch touch screen, climate control and more. That would be staying the same more or less.
The space would also stay the same since there are only changes to the design. In terms of space, do note that the EcoSport is slightly less than rivals but still manages to be along with the class standard.
Engine wise there is nothing new that will come with the facelift as it will continue with the 1.5l petrol and diesel. Gearbox options would be a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic. Had the deal between Ford gone through the turbo petrol might have made it to the EcoSport but that will not happen for now. While the changes are small, the facelifted EcoSport will continue to hold onto its loyal customer base with these updates. We expect the launch to be towards the end of this year while prices would stay the same which for now starts at Rs 8.19 lakh. The EcoSport sub-compact SUV competes with the Nexon, Sonet, Brezza and the Venue amongst others.
