2021 Swift Feb Launch - New Hybrid Engine, Tech & Colour

2021 Maruti Suzuki Swift Facelift Launch in Feb with New Hybrid Engine - India's Most Fuel Efficient Petrol Car?
There is no stopping the Maruti Swift and it has been one of the best selling cars ever and currently continues to be the best selling car in India month on month. It has overtaken the Alto on many counts and the new generation model has been a big success. There is less competition too in this regard with the Swift standing tall in terms of overall sales.
But it has been a few years that the Swift has been around and unlike other Maruti models like the Ignis or Baleno, it has not got any facelift. However the good news is that it will get one very soon. We expect the new Swift to be launched this month towards the last week of February.
2021 Maruti Suzuki Swift Facelift Exterior Changes
It is not a huge facelift at all but a small update to the design. The biggest change at the front would be the new grille with a new pattern. Elsewhere the alloy wheels are expected to be new too. It might get a new orange black dual tone colour option while the front bumper may get a small tweak. The rear bumper also gets a minor change while the tail-lamps remain the same.
New Engine for 2021 Swift Facelift?
The new Swift will continue with the BS6 1.2l petrol which delivers 82 bhp while also continuing would be the 5-speed manual and the AMT automatic. There is no diesel of course since Maruti discontinued diesels more than a year back due to BS6 making diesels expensive.
What would be the new is the addition of the 90 PS Dualjet petrol engine which is also there in the Baleno post the facelift. That will have more power and also will get a smart hybrid system to save fuel including a stop-start system. Unlike the standard Swift which gets both an AMT as well as a manual this new engine will only get a manual gearbox. The big change would be an improved fuel efficiency with a mileage of around 23 - 24 km/l .We expect the new Swift to be India's most fuel efficient Petrol Car
2021 Swift Facelift Price Increase?
We expect the standard Swift prices to remain the same but the new engine would be more expensive and we guess it would be available with less trims than in the other Swift engine. We expect a price increase of around Rs 20,000 to 30,000 for the new Swift facelift with Hybrid Engine Option. Overall this is a small change with no update to the interior or features but since this is such a strong seller that maybe it does not need them.
Rivals to the New 2021 Swift?
The new Swift is positioned below the Baleno and competes with the likes of the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios on one hand while it also to some extent competes with the Volkswagen Polo and Hyundai i20 lower spec variants too while the Tata Tiago or even the Altroz is also a bit of a competition for this car.
