While the pandemic has delayed it, the new Skoda Octavia would be launched on the 10th of this month along with the prices. The Next Generation Skoda Octavia will go on sale immediately after launch with the option for the customer to schedule a test drive and book the Octavia online or at the Skoda dealership. This is the all new model and is based on the new MQB platform which means it is much bigger and more spacious along with having more luxury. It will be having a new look as well with a Superb like appearance with the wider grille and the new headlamps.
The bigger change would be on the inside with a bigger cabin plus it will have the new two spoke Skoda steering which is also seen on the Kushaq. Digital dials, a big free standing touch screen and more luxury features are also there. Expect luxury car features like ambient lighting, three zone climate control, connected tech, wireless charging, voice assistance and more. Skoda has also increased the luxury quotient when compared to the Octavia sold abroad with plush materials along with a dual-tone look.
In terms of engine options, the new Octavia will remove diesels from its line-up and it will get a bigger 2.0 TFSI petrol engine. The standard gearbox would be a 7-speed DSG with no manual coming as of now. That means it will be more powerful with 190 bhp plus more torque. Being bigger and more luxurious also means that the new Octavia would be more expensive hence expect a starting price of around 19 lakh with the top-end version to be priced just under Rs 25 lakh. The new Octavia is closer to the Skoda Super and gets more technology too while as a sedan it is one of the best equipped at this price point.
