All Nissan Magnite SUV Features - Design, Comfort, Infotainment, Technology and Safety Details
For quite some time we have been looking at many render images, spy shots and even teasers about the Nissan Magnite. Now we get to you the production version of the Magnite that we all have been waiting for. This marks Nissan’s entry into the highly competitive and trending compact SUV segment and with this Nissan hopes to regain its hold in the Indian market.
Nissan has developed the Magnite on the CMF-A+ platform which is developed together with Renault and this platform also underpins the Triber MPV. On the front, Nissan has offered muscular bonnet lines, large headlamp units with bi-projector LED units, and full LED headlamp unit on the top-spec model. L-shaped LED DRL’s and even LED fog lamp unit placed at the lower end of the bumper. Also, the Magnite is offered with a large black grille and large chrome slats surrounding it. This compact SUV runs on 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, it gets squared wheel arches and it also gets integrated bodyside cladding to add up to the muscular look. Nissan also offers the Magnite with skid plates on the front and the rear, 205mm ground clearance and a set of roof rails that has a 50kg load-bearing capacity.
INTERIOR, COMFORT AND FEATURES
As compared to the concept model, the production version of the Magnite misses out on the honeycomb mesh design on the dashboard, whereas it has been offered with an all-black layout. As the A-pillar is not upright it offers the best-in-class visibility and high command eye position to the driver. Also, the front seats offer good support and can accommodate large individuals comfortably. In terms of space, the front row offers good shoulder room and adequate knee room at the rear, thus making the cabin roomy. At the rear, with the help of the large doors the ingress and egress can be done with ease, there is ample of headroom, the seats are well cushioned as well and as the floor is flat it can accommodate three passengers comfortably.
Coming to the features, this compact SUV comes loaded with a 10-litre illuminated glove box, Urus like air-con vents, rear AC vents, automatic climate control, phone storage space at the base of the centre console which will get wireless charging on the top-spec models, an armrest at the rear which will include two cup holders and a mobile holder as well. In addition to this, the Magnite will be equipped with a first in segment 360-degree camera, an air purifier, ambient mood lighting, six-speaker system and puddle lamps. On the other hand, Nissan is also featuring the Magnite with its car connected technology through Nissan Connect and it will get in 50+ features that will include geofence, roadside assistance, smartwatch connectivity etc. As of now, there is no news about a sunroof but it could be launched at a later stage.
INFOTAINMENT UNIT AND INSTRUMENT CLUSTER
The Magnite features an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment unit which is the largest in its segment and it will be compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. This large screen also showcases the car from the 360-degree camera that will help in tight parking spots. The main element inside the cabin is the 7-inch TFT instrument console. It is bright and easy to read with many animations and it also gets graphics for the tyre pressure monitoring system. It also features an eco function which rates your driving and gives you a score and it also provides suggestions to improve your driving skills.
The top-spec variants of the Nissan Magnite will be equipped with hill start assist, Vehicle Dynamics Control, tyre pressure monitoring system and traction control. Across the range, this compact SUV will be equipped with standard safety features such as front dual airbags, ABS with EBD, brake assist, seat belt reminder system and rear parking sensors.
Nissan will be powering the Magnite with an HRA0 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine and it will be coupled to a 5-speed manual transmission and it could also get the X-Tronic CVT gearbox as an option. Nissan claims that this engine will offer a fuel economy of 20 km per litre of fuel and it will also feature ‘mirror bore cylinder coating’ to reduce resistance inside the engine. This technology has been used with the Nissan GT-R and it offers smooth acceleration along with efficient use of fuel and lower CO2 emissions.
LAUNCH AND PRICE EXPECTATIONS
It is expected that the bookings for the Nissan Magnite will commence from the end of 2020 and the launch is expected to be held at the start of 2021. We at MyNewCar are expecting that the Nissan Magnite will be launched between Rs 5.5 lakh to Rs 8 lakh Ex-Showroom, price range in the nation. Once launched it will be competing with the Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV 300, Ford EcoSport, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and the Toyota Urban Cruiser.
