Renault Kiger Production Start Price < 5 lakh? Pre-Book Open
Renault Kiger Production Start, Pre-Booking Open on Feb 15th Ahead of Launch with Starting Price Below 5 lakh to Undercut Magnite?
Renault has started production of its upcoming compact SUV, the Kiger. Mass production of the Kiger has started today ahead of its launch in March while dispatches have also started to Renault’s network of more than 500 dealerships across India. Deliveries will start soon with the pricing and launch taking place shortly. The Kiger would be launching first in India before other markets while the pricing would be aggressive thanks to high localization. Renault Kiger will have the same localization level as the Triber and that will enable it to price it lower than stable mate Nissan Magnite. The Magnite was first launched with a shocking price-tag which was cheaper while now the base variant price has been increased to around Rs 5.4 lakh. The Kiger though would have introductory pricing which would be just below the Rs 5 lakh mark (possibly Rs 4.99 lakh starting) and that would make it the most affordable SUV in India.
The Kiger would be launched with two petrol options while the base variant would be the one with the 1.0 petrol which is the same engine as the Triber. However like the Triber the Kiger will also get an AMT automatic upwards the range unlike the Magnite. The Kiger at the top of the range will get a 1.0 turbo petrol engine which will also get a CVT automatic. In terms of features the Kiger would also be well equipped to fight it out with rivals including wireless charging and drive modes while also getting features including a digital instrument cluster and touch screen system with smart phone connectivity plus more. There would be various accessories available at launch too.
The Kiger is also a proper SUV with ground clearance of 205mm while also having functional roof-rails which adds to the practicality. The wheelbase of the Kiger is also an ample 2500mm which liberates a lot of space inside. Just like the Triber, the Kiger would be keen to exploit the SUV segment below the current crop of rival SUVs like the Kia Sonet on one hand to the Tata Nexon on the other. The Magnite is also competition but the Kiger has more futuristic styling and the extra features which will no doubt swing the vote towards the Renault. That said Renault is going all out and the Kiger promises to be the cheapest SUV in India come March 2020. Pre-Booking to Open on MYNEWCAR.in on Feb 15th,2021
