n the past couple of years, we have seen that Tata Motors has completely revamped their line up and with new models have also been launched. As of now, Tata Motors has brought in the Nexon EV, Nexon facelift, Altroz premium hatchback and new updates to the Tigor and the Tiago. At the recently held 2020 Auto Expo, the Indian manufacturer showcased many upcoming new models and concepts. Expected launch: June 2021
Expected Price: Rs 5 lakh - Rs 8 lakh Ex-Showroom
Tata Motors is working on a micro-SUV which was showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo as the HBX Concept. This micro-SUV will be based on the ALFA modular platform and once launched it will sit below the Nexon in Tata Motors’s SUV lineup. In terms of design and aesthetics, the production model will share some design elements from the Altroz premium hatchback. It will be offered with a sleek LED headlight and DRL unit and it will also get body cladding all over to give it a muscular look. The cabin will be spacious and it will be equipped with the best features and segment-leading equipment. According to some media reports, this production model will be named as the Tata Hornbill. Powering this micro-SUV could be an option between a 1.2-litre petrol engine that churns out 85 bhp of power and the 1.5-litre diesel engine that puts out 89 bhp of power.

Expected Price: Rs 18 lakh - Rs 23 lakh Ex-Showroom
At the latest 2020 Auto Expo, Tata Motors showcased the production model of the Gravitas 7-seater SUV. This SUV is the 7-seater version of the Harrier and once launched it will lock its horns with the MG Hector Plus, Mahindra XUV 500 and the upcoming Hyundai Creta 7-seater. Tata Motors is developing the Gravitas on the new OMEGA platform which is sourced from the Land Rover Discovery Sport’s D8 platform. Just like the latest cars launched by the Indian manufacturer, even the Gravitas will feature the new IMPACT design 2.0 language. The cabin will get most of the features from the Harrier and it will also come loaded with additional new equipment and latest technology. It will be available in both 6-seater and 7-seater configuration as well. Under the hood of the Gravitas will be a 2.0-litre diesel engine that churns out 170 bhp of power that also powers the Harrier and the Jeep Compass. This diesel engine will be coupled to a 6-speed manual gearbox and 6-speed automatic transmission that will be sourced from Hyundai. In addition to this, Tata Motors will also provide the Gravitas with an optional AWD system.
3. Altroz EV
Expected launch: Jan 2021
Expected Price: Rs 11 lakh - Rs 13 lakh Ex-Showroom
The Tata Altroz EV was showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo and it is one of the most anticipated electric hatchbacks to be launched in the Indian market. Just like the regular Altroz powered with an IC engine, the electric version of this premium hatchback will be based on the ALFA modular platform. In terms of design, it could get a concealed grille on the front with star patterns as seen on the Nexon EV, it could also get a new design alloy wheel and some exclusive details as well. The cabin will also be the same in comparison with the regular Altroz but it will get some specific details like the blue star on the upholstery, rotary dials for gear selection and an electronic parking brake. It is expected that the powertrain from the Nexon EV could be shared with Altroz EV which will include Tata’s Ziptron powertrain with an IP67 certified 30.2kWh battery pack. According to Tata Motors, the Altorz EV will have a range of 250-300 km on a single charge and it will also come with a fast-charging system that could charge the battery to 80% in an hour.
4. Blackbird New Mid-Size UV
Expected launch: Late 2021
Expected Price: Rs 11 lakh - Rs 18 lakh Ex-Showroom
With the growing demand for SUV’s in the Indian market, Tata Motors has decided to launch another 5-seater SUV. This will be a compact SUV and it will be positioned in between the Nexon and the Harrier. According to some reports, this compact SUV is being based on the Cherry Tiggo SUV and it is being internally called the Tata Blackbird. Tata Motors will be developing the Blackbird on the ALFA modular platform and once launched it will lock its horns with the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Nissan Kicks and the Renault Duster. As of now, there aren’t many details available yet, but it is expected that the Tata Blackbird will be powered with the 1.2-litre turbo petrol and the 1.5-litre diesel engine which is seen under the hood of the Nexon.

Expected Price: Rs 14 lakh - Rs 18 lakh Ex-Showroom
Tata Motors took the 2020 Auto Expo by a storm by showcasing the Sierra SUV concept. The concept showcased was based on an electric SUV and this brings in many hints that the Indian car manufacturer is planning to get this in the market. Although the concept model was showcased with an electric powertrain, the production-spec model will be first launched with a petrol and diesel powertrain and the EV powertrain will be brought in at a later period. As of now, there aren’t many details revealed yet, but it is expected that the Sierra will underpin the OMEGA ARC modular platform and it could also measure 4.3 meters in length.
6. BS6 Hexa
Expected launch: Jan 2021
Expected Price: Rs 15 lakh - Rs 20 lakh Ex-Showroom
Tata Motors will be launching a BS6 Hexa in a few months, but this model will be called the Tata Hexa Safari. This model was showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo, in terms of aesthetics it looks very similar to the previous model. But it will be offered with some slight design elements like the Safari badging on the exterior and interior, new upholstery, new paint schemes, body cladding and a new roof rail. Under the hood will be a BS6 compliant 2.2-litre turbo diesel engine that can put out 156 bhp of power and 400 Nm of torque. This is a bit more powerful than the BS-4 compliant model and it will also get the option between three transmissions- a 5-speed manual, a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic.
