Upcoming Hyundai AX1 SUV Styling Leaked - Shorter than Venue
Upcoming 2022 Hyundai AX1 Micro SUV Styling Revealed- Just Shorter than Venue with Hyundai Grand i10 Features & Engine?
A spy pic of the upcoming 2022 Hyundai AX1 mini SUV has surfaced and that shows the rear styling of this new car. The AX1 would follow the HBX from Tata by being the next launch from Hyundai though Covid-19 could delay launch timings. It is basically a Grand i10 Nios with increased ride height and SUV design.
The new spy shot gives a better view of the back and you can see a more boxy approach has been taken by Hyundai to design this. The roofline is straight while it gets roof-rails and cladding. The rear styling has unique tail-lamps and fog-lamps with a youthful twist. It is also narrow and more like a hatchback with raised suspension. The length of the SUV would also be shorter than the Venue but will have a longer wheelbase and more headroom/legroom than a Nios. The wheels could be 15-inch in size for the top-end trim while the front-end will have the split headlamp/DRL set-up too like the Venue. We expect a 1.2l petrol to form the base of the range with AMT and manual gearbox options while a turbo petrol could also be given along with the diesel from the Nios.
This AX1 SUV is based on the Hyundai’s K1 platform and will sit under the sub-4 metre Venue SUV. It will target the Maruti Suzuki Ignis, Renault Kiger/Nissan Magnite and the upcoming Citroen CC21 & Tata HBX/Hornbill in the entry level sub-compact SUV space being also called as micro SUVs.
We expect prices to be similar to the Grand i10 Nios with ex-showroom prices starting at Rs 5 lakh for the base model with the top end model priced at around 8 lakh. Hyundai will most probably launch the AX1 towards the end of 2021 after the launch of 6/7 Seater Alcazar. Pic- Autospy
