KIA Carnival : Features, Designs, Variants Price List & much more

After a prolonged wait, Kia Motors has officially launched the Carnival at the Auto Expo. The car was already revealed but the prices were not disclosed. The Carnival prices range from Rs.24.95 Lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) for the base variant to Rs.3.95 Lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) for the top variant.
It comes as a Completely Knocked Down (CKD) unit. Such is the popularity of the MPV that it has already garnered over 35,000 bookings since the day bookings were made open. The deliveries will begin later this month. The car is available in three colour options: Glacier White Pearl, Aurora Black Pearl and Steel Silver.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The Carnival is The Kia Carnival is powered by a BS 6 compliant 2.2 litre VGT diesel engine that produces 200 PS power and 440 Nm peak torque and is mated to an 8 speed sportmatic transmission.
EXTERIOR
The front of the car is characterised by a tiger nose grille flanked by LED DRLs, LED headlamps and fog lamps. The rear also gets LED taillamps and a chrome strip connecting the two taillights. Other design elements such as rear spoiler, floating roof design and faux skid plate on the rear bumper work well to give the Carnival a premium appeal. The 18 inch diamond cut alloys look fabulous. The design is pure and well suited for a luxury MPV.
INTERIOR
Use of plush and upmarket materials in the interiors along with comfortable seats and spacious cabin make it the perfect place to be in after a stressful day. The powered sliding doors aid in easy ingress and egress for the rear passengers. The Premium trim is available in two configurations: 7 & 8 seats, while the Prestige trim is also available in two configurations: 7 & 9 seats. The top end Limousine trim is available in only 7 seat configuration, with the second row getting two captain seats. With all three rows up, the Carnival offers 540 litres of boot space.
FEATURES
When it comes to features, the MPV is packed with all the bells and whistles. It includes multiple touchscreen infotainment systems: an 8 inch touchscreen infotainment system at the front and two 10.1 inch touchscreen infotainment system at the rear, multifunction steering wheel, wireless smartphone charger, 3.5 inch display panel, 360-degree camera with blind view monitor and driver rear view monitor. Other comfort features include auto defog windscreen, telescopic steering wheel, cruise control, ventilated driver seat, powered tailgate, one-touch powered sliding doors, tri zone automatic AC and air purifier. Just like the Seltos, it too gets connected car features: 37 in total with a free subscription of three years.
SAFETY
The Carnival gets a number of safety features, including ABS with EBD, ESC, HAC, VSM, TPMS, hill start assist and parking sensors (front+rear). Kia claims that the structure of the car is built using high strength steel (HSS) and adhesives.
RIVALS
Though there are no direct competitors to the Carnival, it sits between the Toyota Innova Crysta and Mercedes Benz V Class.
VARIANTS & PRICES
The luxury MPV is available in three variants: Premium, Prestige and Limousine. Customers can choose from three variants: 7 seat, 8 seat and 9 seat configurations.
