1. KIA Seltos

In addition to this, the 1.4-litre Turbo petrol gets the option for a 7-speed DSG, whereas the 1.5-litre Naturally Aspirated petrol engine gets an option of a CVT and the diesel engine getting the option for a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.

3. Hyundai Venue iMT

Recently, Hyundai introduced the Venue to the sub 4m compact SUV segment and the Korean manufacturer has hit all the right notes. It was the best selling SUV in India in August,2020. The Venue comes powered with 3 refined engine options, it is offered with a futuristic design, comfortable interiors which are rich in features and it also gets good dynamics in its segment. Although Hyundai offers the Venue with two petrol engines and one diesel engine option, the most buzzing model is the recently introduced 1.0-litre Turbo petrol engine with the semi-automatic gearbox (iMT - Intelligent Manual Transmission). This is a hybrid of a manual and an automatic gearbox in which there is a conventional manual gearbox and two pedals - accelerator and brake. The iMT gearbox consists of an intention sensor at the gear level which works with the TCU / Transmission Control Unit. When the driver is about to change gear, the TCU will send signals to the hydraulic actuator to engage and disengage the clutch plate.

It now comes available in 14 different trim levels, three engine options and it also comes equipped with the best creature comfort features and modern technology. Overall the whole design has been updated and it looks very futuristic and the interiors now feel more premium than before. With its strong brand following, the Hyundai Creta is one of the most favourable in the Indian market. Powering the petrol model Creta are two engine options – a 1.5 litre MPi unit which is mated to a 6-speed manual and Intelligent Variable Transmission and a 1.4 litre Turbo unit which is coupled to a 7-speed Dual Clutch Transmission. In its latest iteration, Tata Motors has offered the Nexon with some comprehensive updates. 6. Tata Harrier

The Tata Harrier is surely a head turner with its macho looks and aggressive styling elements. It has been developed on the Land Rover Underpinning, it gets a spacious cabin and the Harrier now gets a list of modern equipment’s which overall helps to attracts a lot of buyers. Although it has been offered with its BS6 upgrade it still misses out on a petrol engine. But with this, the diesel engine is now much more powerful than its predecessor and it now gets an automatic gearbox as well. The 2.0 L Kryotec diesel engine now produces 168 bhp of power and 350 Nm of torque which matted to a 6-speed manual and automatic gearbox. In its latest update, Tata Motors has brought in some features such as a panoramic sunroof, electrically powered seats and auto-dimming IRVM which it was missing out on.
