The Duster range starts with the 1.5l petrol and a 1.3l turbo petrol with a CVT option. The Kiger comes with a 1.0 petrol and a 1.0 turbo petrol which has a CVT. The 1.0 petrol has an AMT also unlike the Duster. A 5-speed manual is standard on the Kiger for both engines. The Duster has a 6-speed manual standard also. The Kiger is not as powerful as the Duster but is a lot more efficient.

The biggest difference is in the pricing where the Duster starts at the expected top-end price of the Kiger. The Duster is priced between Rs 9.5-14 lakh while the Kiger would be expected to be priced between Rs 5-10 lakh. No doubt the Duster is more spacious, bigger and more powerful but the Kiger looks better, is more modern plus better equipped too. Plus of course it is fuel efficient as well so overall the Kiger is the wiser choice.
