Renault Kwid Facelift SUV Price List, Features, Specification 2019
Renault has revamped its line up with the launch of an updated hatchback in the Indian market. Yes! We are talking about the facelift of the Kwid that was launched on October 1st 2019. This updated hatchback has been launched at a starting price of Rs 2.83 lakh (Ex-Showroom, India) and the top end trim levels goes upto Rs 4.84 lakh (Ex-Showroom, India). Renault launched the new Kwid right after Maruti Suzuki launched the S-Presso, hence locking its horns directly with its arch rivals.
Design:
The styling and the design of the Kwid facelift takes inspiration from the KZ-E electric car from Renault itself. This electric vehicle was launched in China earlier this year. Upfront the Kwid facelift is offered with a high mounted LED DRL setup and a split headlamp unit giving it an aggressive look and sporty stance. The headlamps are placed a bit lower which is very much similar to the Tata Harrier the MG Hector. The front bumper gets a whole new modern design and only the top variant gets a faux skid plate. Depending upon the variant, the Kwid facelift will also get a newly designed alloy wheel.
Interior:
Moving inside the cabin, the Kwid facelift gets a revamped look on the inside too. The dashboard gets slight tweaks in terms of design and it now holds an eight inch touchscreen infotainment unit that is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The steering wheel gets a new design and the gear shift knob on the AMT model is now positioned on the centre console rather than the dashboard as seen on the previous model. The instrument console is now fully digital which includes the speedometer and tachometer and it is similar to the one seen on the Triber. In addition to this, Renault now provides the facelift of the kwid with a new seat fabric and modified door pad trims.
Powertrain:
Powering the 2019 Kwid facelift is an 800cc three cylinder petrol engine that produces 54 bhp of power and it is coupled with a five speed manual gearbox. In addition to this, it also gets an option for a 1.0 litre three cylinder petrol engine that generates 68 bhp of power and it gets two transmission options to choose from- a five speed manual and a five speed AMT unit. As of now, these engines are compatible with the BS-4 emission norms and it is expected that Renault will soon update the lineup with BS-6 engines just before 1st of April 2020.
Modern features and Technology.
In terms of modern features and technology, Renault has equipped the 2019 Kwid facelift with an eight inch touchscreen infotainment unit that is compatible with both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, it gets 14 inch alloy wheels, LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL’S), rear centre armrest, manual AC unit.
Safety Features:
The safety kit on the new Kwid consist of a driver side airbag, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, seat belt reminder system, speed alert system and ISOFIX child seat mounts as standard in all the variants. On the other hand, the Kwid 1.0 RXT and the Climber models gets addition passenger side airbag along with power windows at the rear as well.
