Tata Launches facelift of the Tiago, Tigor and Nexon
Along with the launch of the much awaited Tata Altroz, the Indian automotive manufacturer has also launched the facelift of the Tiago, Tigor and the Nexon. In addition to the new styling, modern features, Tata Motors has upgraded the New Tiago, Tigor and the Nexon with BS 6 compliant engines. With this, the New Nexon now has been launched at Rs 6.95 lakh (Ex-Showroom, India), whereas the New Tiago and the New Tigor has been introduced at Rs 4.60 lakh and Rs 5.75 lakh (Ex-Showroom, India) respectively.
The 2020 models for all the three models are based on the new IMPACT 2.0 design platform. Coming to design, the new Nexon looks similar to the Nexon EV whereas the Tiago and Tigor facelifts are inspired from the newly launched Altroz. Here the slim grille and the protruding hodd line look very identical.
Tiago and Tigor Facelift
The newly designed front grille offers the New Tiago and the New Tigor with a sporty look. Also it carries a honeycomb mesh and it gets a sleek chrome underline which is extended all the way to the headlamp unit. The front and rear bumpers have also been revised and the as we look closely we can see that the fog lamp housings are now bigger which adds up to the bold appeal. Overall the outline and the silhouette of both the models remains the same.
Tata has offered the facelift of the Nexon with a slight angular face and it is also offered with a new upright grille and a chunky black bar in the centre. The bumper has been redesigned and it now holds a skid plate, a newly designed fog lamp setup and C-shaped chrome elements as well. Also, the front fascia now gets a reworked headlight unit and LED DRL setup. Moving to the side profile, the eye catching element here is the new 16 inch diamond cut alloy wheels.
As we step inside the cabins of the three facelift models, it can be noticed that there aren’t many changes. But all of them get a new digital instrument cluster and new steering wheel. In addition to this, the New Tiago and Tigor now come equipped with a 7 inch touchscreen infotainment unit, whereas the New Nexon will continue with the same 7 inch touchscreen infotainment unit. Overall all of the models are equipped with Harman sound system and the infotainment units are compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Under the hood of the 2020 Tiago and Tigor is a 1.2 litre, naturally aspirated BS 6 compliant petrol engine. This motor churns out 84 bhp of power and 113 Nm of twist. On the other hand, Tata powers the 2020 Nexon with both BS 6 compliant petrol and diesel units. The petrol model is powered with a 1.2 litre turbocharged petrol unit producing 108 bhp of power and 113 Nm torque. The diesel model gets a 1.5 litre unit putting out 108 bhp of power and 260Nm of twist. All of the models are available with an option of a five speed manual transmission and an AMT unit as well.
